After being flung onto his back, Cletus stood up and loaded the sticky bomb shell into the Behemoth and fired it at the Nitro. Sighing, he moved onto a leaf close to the ground.
"I'm talking to you, Nitro! Do not ignore your betters! I have important information regarding the inferiority of avian biology in comparison to that of a human! It involves the fact that your bones have more holes than your evolutionary history!"

...and that's terrible.Jack bowed his head in answer to Lita's decision. Her resolve, it seemed, was equal to the task, and that counted for much, as would the morale of the troops. He was not certain that a head-on attack was the best option, but with luck, if they were fast enough, they could still catch one force and annihilate it before going after the second.
"Very well," he said. "I ask permission to lead the vanguard." If he could break a hole in the enemy lines and take out the fallen champions, victory would be assured.
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao Tzu"Lemme guess, those little bitches want us to help out in their assisted suicide then?" Flutterbitch asked Rey. "I'm ready for a real challenge! Those monkeys were way too easy, I wanna squash something that's actually a CHALLENGE to murder!!"
"Well before, I did it with reckless abandon. Now I can't control myself!" ~ Jesse Cox, 2014"What's an evolution?" Tyrell called to Cletus as he continued to assault the Robos with flame. He had to choose his shots a bit more carefully now so that he didn't hit Garland or Sani.
Mehir has chuckled evilly, then began to weave a complex spell. The Efreeti, meanwhile, crossed their hands. They floated quickly after the fleeing demon, firing their magical energy bolts at it. "Min jenab jamia' al-arwakh aj-jakhim... Min ashbakh al-mutta al-ta yuqimun al-an fi aj-jakhim... Soyul tatayul al-nar a'li la al-yak!"
A torrent of flames began to form above the Summoner's head. It grew in size, then he motioned his hand, and it shot toward Fleetus.
Byakuren floated there, not aware of what was coming from below and unsure of whether anything above her was safe to attack. At this distance, the lines of light would carve through her allies as readily as her enemies and whilst the man with the strange hair might survive, there was a considerable chance that he would be diced up...
Avatar SourceFrom down below, the Nitro casually swiped at the air as it ascended... and produced what was perhaps a a few dozen razor air currents that fanned out and indiscriminately cut at whatever was unlucky enough to be in its location. Huge swathes of plant, the remaining GT Robo, and a couple of giant avians plummeted down, diced into shreds and spilling out their innards.
Gunner immediately withdrew her head and tugged Tyrell back a little so that the Razor Wind missed them- barely. Soon, the dreaded avian humanoid was perched atop a higher leaf, looking down upon the others as though it was a god, its arms folded and a bored look upon its face.
Sani glared at the thing that cut apart his outer tunic, revealing several gashes in his bleeding chest. "Bastard, ya scratched my beautiful skin!" He looked the thing over, cautious of the inherently powerful thing.

Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected. It was very lucky that Nanoha hadn't yet began to fire her followup to the Barrel Shot, another Divine Buster. That allowed her autoprotect to kick in and very neatly block the razor wind, though it did rock her substantially.
"Waaah... what was that?!"
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."After his little outburst, Grey seemed to get the message, and obediently began gathering materials, his long, spindly limbs grasping a sizeable bundle of parts. Following the others, he was determined only to do his best, and he focused his gaze on the path ahead. Part of him wondered despairingly if he would ever be able to break out of this limbo, but he knew that he could only trust in his allies to do the right thing, even if that meant killing him. The thought was unpleasant, but a possible outcome all the same.
Locking you up on radar since '09Kohaku paid no heed to the razor wind. As long as she stuck to the plan, nothing would really be able to hurt her. Of course, the plan was just to float behind Byakuren and use her as a human shield but it seemed to be working for her so far.
"Well, Nano-chan," she said, her loud voice drowning out the wind. "By the looks of it I'd say it was a localized area of wind at such a high pressure that it becomes able to cut through things like a storm of knives. Just be glad you're protected, as that would probably hurt an awful lot, ufu~"
"Superhuman 'Byakuren Hijiri'!" exclaimed the magician of the same name, opening her scroll overhead. It wasn't strictly necessary to do this but most people present appeared to be in a poor situation for aerial combat... and if the bird-thing was going to fire lots of attacks at once, so was she!
The first clue that something was going to happen was that light seemed to be drawn in towards the oddly-haired girl... and then she zigzagged towards the Nitro, stopping off to one side and trailing suspiciously bumped lines of bright blue light. The original glow drew in towards her again and she zigzagged away from the bird, vertically this time, and likely ended up in front of it if it didn't move. Whilst this was going on, the first lines broke up into their component spheres, which rushed at the Nitro. So the pattern would continue: horizontal zizagging to in front of the bird but distant, then vertical to her starting position. Rinse and repeat.
Avatar SourceThe Nitro regarded the spheres with curiosity, reaching out to touch one. It then gave it a nasty surprise, and the thing instantly retracted its fingers, looking at the injury to its digits. "KRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE!" As the thing screeched out its hostility, its half hooded eyes snapped wide open, revealing orbs with no pupils, akin to a dead fish.
The birdman then tensed its muscles, before springing into motion. It suddenly blurred into a storm of flailing limbs, before a dozen or so Nitros reappeared, all attempting to jump after their respective targets. Said images were incredibly fast, as they all sped along their invisible routes toward either Nanoha, Byakuren, or Gunner, which it identified as the three main threats.
Gunner immediately began emptying clips as she shot two of the images headed her way. Once contacted, the illusion faded away to reveal giant monster fangs that still sped her way; their cloaks shed.
Cursing herself for being negligent, she shot one of the things away, though the other one was directly behind the first one so it was in a blind spot. Reflexively blocking the second one with her autogun, the Gunner realized it was a mistake. The force behind the projectile was staggering, as it not only ripped the weapon out of her hand with momentum alone, it also broke her wrist with a sickening snap. "Gyah!" The woman gasped in pain, looking at her maimed hand in shock.
"Idiot, Nitros are freaking strong! Don't block if ya can't take it!" Sani roared at Metaluca as he caught a couple of the illusions with his hairs, and crushing them. "Feh, flush out the real one!" He ordered the others, attempting to find the thing that hid itself. As more of the illusions were hit by Byakuren's orbs, they too shifted into flying fangs...

Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected. The illusions and the fangs within them slammed into Nanoha's shield, rocking her further. However, it took a great deal to smash through her shield, and even with the damage done to it so far it did not break. Once all the fangs heading for her were gone, Nanoha dropped her shield and, aiming Raising Heart, attempted to locate the real Nitro.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."The snap drew Byakuren's attention like a magnet and the hint of cream surrounded by crimson... How dare it; how dare this bird attack people who aren't even trying to harm it! We just want a piece of corn, yet this foolish avian has to go and attempt to kill us! This shall not be tolerated]]!
The magician's amused, warm expression faltered for the first time that day, the beautiful features—for they were beautiful, it was the youkai's main reason for going down this path long ago—seeming cold and merciless. If one needed any more confirmation that she wasn't going to sit idle or go for simple, low-powered patterns, then it was the immediate cancelling of her spell-card and looking at the fangs that flew towards her, illusions broken. Whilst dodging might have been sensible, it was less dangerous to her opponent and Byakuren caught them, ignoring the blood as tooth scraped through barriers, and tossed the body-parts back like darts.
The scroll morphed into a delicate tracery of vines, formed of golden light, and swiftly flowered. The four plants were... odd but not particularly dangerous on their own, not until Byakuren put it to use. The rocket propelling her upwards was surprising, however, pushing her out of the plane of battle and allowing her to fire anywhere.
"Great Magic ~ Devil's Recitation ~ Third Dimension* ." Streams of blue, dagger-like bullets poured from the flowers, likely trapping the Nitro within a small area, one giving it little room to manoeuvre without being harmed. The converging streams were joined by crimson bubbles, making even staying within that little area even more difficult... and then the spheres of burning light started to emanate from around Byakuren's level. That wasn't all: shortly violently red lasers would join the mess and the speed and density of the secondary shots would keep increasing.
The worst part, for the bird? The spell-card rules had been discarded. How dare it hurt the innocent and expect to escape unscathed...
Whilst everyone else was within the target area, the magician was sparing what concentration she could on ensuring they weren't hit. Of course, this left her unprotected... but for the simple fact that the spell centred around her and ranged attacks would likely be swamped and crushed by her offence. A good offence is the best defence indeed.
Hopefully, it would be enough.
Avatar SourceWhat a barrage! Garland was legitimately impressed. For his part, he was standing on one of the platforms, not being stupid enough to wade into Byakuren's spell. He kept a close eye on the Nitros, ready to lock on to the real one the moment he discovered its identity...
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Tyrell had become too focused on trying to get an angle to hit the enimies above him and didn't see or hear the Razor Wind approaching him and Gunner. Stop moving you little-Urk!
Gunner jerked tyrell back out of the path of the blades of air just in time. He felt their passing far more than he liked. He looked down to where they had come from but he didn't see anything. As it turned out that was because the source was now above them.
When he wasn't looking their previous foes had died or disappeared (he wasn't sure) and a new one had appeared. Before he could react it did...something. It looked like it had multiplied into a bunch more of itself and thrown the new selves at them all. And then Gunner shot one and it became teeth, which she unwisely tried to block.
As her wrist broke with a sickening crack; I know that sound. "My turn to save you." Tyrell hugged the Gunner close so she didn't fall off. He had to stop firing to do so but when people got hit enough or hard enough they sometimes fell down. They were a long way off the ground.
Before he could worry about being so open to enemy fire Byruken got all blurry in a weird way and exploded EVERYTHING. Tyrell nearly fell off himself in shock. "...I...I must know she does that. I HAVE to find out how she does that. So beautiful."

The first clue Erio had that he was slowly coming around again was the echoing sounds of what seemed like a distant battle bouncing around inside his head. As he opened his eyes, everything still looked like it was underwater, but that seemed to be clearing. Up above, through the haze, he could see the fight going on.
He staggered to his feet, and almost immediately fell right back down again.
"Yup. That tasted purple.""Woah! Purple-chan, that's awesome!" Kohaku squealed in delight and gave Byakuren a round of applause, as she continued to stick close by the monk. After all, now she'd shown she could be upgraded from a simple meat shield to something far more useful~
Oh wow, she could really give Aoko-chan a run for her money, ufu~ she thought. I never realised she was this powerful. I really should keep a closer eye on Purple-chan. It should come in handy at some point, ufufu~
Cletus stood dumbfounded by Byakuren's barrage. He brought the Behemoth to bear on the nearest Nitro, launching the sticky bomb. "...I don't suppose you can teach me to do that? The whole 'Flurry of Lasers' thing?"
...and that's terrible. The same Coil captive, one of the men who had been a Headbanger, moved to walk alongside Grey. "Dude," he whispered. "While Doviculus is busy with those Tick Choppers, maybe we should make a run for it and try to hide. Eddie and the others will be on their way to put a stop to this soon."
—
Rey scoffed slightly at the Doctor, walking past him. "Tell me how these help us take out those horrible traitors and then I'll be impressed. And the rest of you, leave that fool and his little pet apes alone, we have bigger cats to skin. Fluttershy, if you want a battle, we will soon have one...in the meanwhile, raid any of those broken bodies and gather bones and materials, I have use for them. Greivous! How are the preparations for our stage? They will be here very soon and we must be ready."
—
Lita nodded at Jack's assertion. "Very well. You and this fellow here-," she gestured to Delta, "-were the only ones able to actually stop that...that...what just happened...so obviously you're well suited for it."
The Ironheade troops were able to get organized fairly quickly, with a small number of each of the different groups remaining behind, the rest starting to load onto the bus. As soon as everyone was loaded, they would be on their way.
"If this new creature holds true to the way the Sea works, then he'll be converged at the Dry Ice Mines," Ophelia was explaining to the others standing alongside the bus, looking rather solemn. "The environment's exactly what they look for. So if we rush there, we can pick them off, and if we kill the Sea's avatar, or at least do enough damage, he'll start to lose his control over his minions."

Easing back into life one step at a timeThe Doctor grins. "Rey you've always thought about the power of the physical natures of the mind. You of all people should know the power of the mind and of the heart. These statues and our little talk could bring Jack or Eddie over the edge. They then will be unable to fight. Assuming they can bring themselves to hurt yours truly."
To Be Updated when I'm not LazyJack nodded.
"I will do my best to destroy the avatar at the earliest opportunity, then."
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao TzuGunner gaped in awe at Byakuren's full potential, that prismatic cage of deadly lights that entrapped the swarm of Nitros and closed ever closer. She was aware of Tyrell hugging her, and she was thankful for his help, though she could only continue watching the display with wide eyes, the pain of her broken wrist mitigated by the phantasmic fireworks.
The Nitros disappeared one by one as the fangs were engulfed in magic balls, and soon the real Nitro was let loose. The real thing however, wasn't willing to die gracefully, swiping away at the plasma with its arms. It wasn't getting burned though, as it created a vacuum around its limbs to act as a shield, the thing a twister of flashing limbs that dispersed the energy, somehow managing to keep the frantic pace.
It was then the cluster bomb fired by Cletus wormed its way through the display and caused a massive chain reaction, detonating the whole show into one epicenter of rainbow fire, a mushroom cloud that fell upon itself and condensed into a searing orb of plasma tic energies that swirled with painful brilliance.
Sani simply looked at the fireball, the look in his eyes saying that this wasn't the end. Slowly, the King began forming something with his hair, pulling the strands together and weaving them into his desired effect quickly but carefully...
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Nanoha kept Raising Heart trained on the location that the Nitro had last been in. Byakuren's attack on it was incredibly destructive, but there was a chance that the creature may have survived, and Nanoha was prepared for that.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."
The Doctor grins. "You're learning what I should have learned a long time ago Mr. Mysterio. So... do you like my little party decorations for Eddie?"
If Rey looks around he'd see subtle caricatures of the Nomads the Doctor has met.
