uhhh.... What pic???
Please.I'm talking about the Five-Man Band tropes.
Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I would prefer having action poses of these five, i.e. showing them in a scene that better emphasises their role in the band. Also, I'm pretty sure that Threepio is the team pet, whereas Artoo is the Smart Guy; I'm not sure why that picture is showing both of them.
For example,
The Hero - Luke fighting that monster in Jabba's basement
The Lancer - Han arguing with Luke
The Big Guy - Chewy picking someone up and throwing him
The Smart Guy - Artoo hacking the elevator computer when rescuing Leia
The Chick - I'm actually having trouble finding a good scene here, but I'm sure there is one that doesn't make her the Damsel in Distress.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! That could work.
I'd say that Threepio does have some elements of The Smart Guy, or at least elements associated with The Smart Guy, even if he isn't an example.
I think most of those images are fine. The Lancer and Smart Guy are kinda iffy but everything else works pretty well. Besides, The Chick is usually equipped with a weak, long-range weapon like a bow-and-arrow or gun, so I don't think it wrecks it at all.
Otherwise the tropes are just too vague to actually have an image for them. The Hero is probably the hardest because you've got the original hero, the shounen hero, the sci-fi hero, the child hero... I mean, there's way too many possibilities.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorI think R2 would work better as the The Smart Guy.
I can't remember, was The Chick similar to The Load or not? If so, I think 3PO would work best when he's tied to Chewies back.
Fight smart, not fair.I thought the band tropes went like this:
The Hero: Team, we must stop the Evil Overlord. The longer we wait, the more he kills.
The Lancer: I don't see why we should be in such a rush. It's important that we're properly ready.
The Smart Guy: I have statistical evidence that burning down that orphanage will result in 50% increase in chance of stopping the Evil Overlord. However, it will result in 99.999999999% loss of good PR.
The Chick: Wait, what? We're not burning down the orphanage. It's pretty much the epitome of wrong.
The Big Guy: We destroying the orphanage? Cool. [throws giant boulder at orphanage]
The Chick doesn't neccesarily have to be The Load.

I still say we should never have switched from the color coded guys in helmets original image.
Russell... likes to hurt people... for PEACE.I also think we should change the image on both Western Animation subpagees also. Some of us don't even know anything about Silver Hawks.
Garrett and/or Sonny Maynard were/was here!Just in case I wasn't clear: The Big Guy can be[1]◊ or [2]◊ The Smart Guy can be [3]◊ or [4]◊ The Chick can be [5]◊ or [6]◊ The Hero can be [7]◊ or [8]◊ The Lancer can be [9]◊ or [10]◊
Bump. Clock maybe?
First key to interpreting a work: Things mean things.I'd much prefer to leave the main page without a pic (or, at the very least, some kind of chart) and keep the pics on the medium-specific pages.
Let's see... I'd say:
- The Hero - Luke in any cool fight scene, really.
- The Lancer - Han being contrary to Luke/Leia.
- The Big Guy - Chewy throwing someone, of course.
- The Smart Guy - I actually put the current pic on the page... it's kind of hard to show.
- The Chick - Leia when she got shot in the arm in Return Of The Jedi maybe?
I would totally help get pictures, but I don't think I have the whole original trilogy on DVD, just VHS. (Yeah, elitism)

No no, this is for the individual FMB trope pages, not the main FMB page.
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything. — Talking Heads, 1977Gotcha.
Bump...should we address these individually or all at once in here? There's a separate thread about The Smart Guy right now.
Seconding this motion, for one more reason in addition to everything said above - come on, the caption for The Chick outright admits that Leia isn't much of a fit for the trope!
I'm going to go ahead and lock this since there's no pic on the page anymore.
Okay, I'm not sure this will be a popular move, especially considering how big Star Wars is. And the Grandfather Clause is sort of in the way here. But some of these don't really demonstrate the trope. Let's start off with a brief look at each one:
