@Psyga315: Uh... I was following for the first idea, and then I got completely lost for the next two. How did the episode inspire you again?

Basically the mere presence of Pear Butter helped inspire it.
Cel and Luna have to list all the potential trouble makers when they invite all the ageless immortals over for a meeting. They have the deceitful tricksters, the violent warrior and voracious hedonists. Sun Wu Kong is on every list.
Someone really liked my Matterhorn story, to the point they outright made a storyline for a sequel.
From Dusk to Night's new chapter is live.

That fic had a lot of really cool ideas. Pity it was so heavy on Expo Dumps.
Chapter Three of Damaged Goods is now live.

There should be a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Kingdom Hearts crossover!
The two would work pretty well together! They're both light-hearted and idealistic, friendship is a major theme of the two, and the Equesteria Girls franchise already opened up the door to other worlds!

There's probably at least one good fic in there.
Finally gotten through Urohringr. Well worth the trip as usual. Just about halfway through the series's total wordcount, and hopefully the rest won't take me another two years.
Also approaching the home stretch of catching up with the Triptych Continuum (almost done with A Mark of Appeal, which felt like it dragged some but really picked up in the second half or so) and Starlight Over Detrot (near the end of Act 2). Good times.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. If you're able to mentally separate them at all, which would you say are your favorite and least favorite of the Austraeoh books you've read so far?
I don't know about a favorite. I wasn't enthused about Innavedr (3), just because it felt like the story was taking long enough to progress and now it would take however many hundreds of thousands of words for everyone to come back together and move forward. One step forward, five steps back. But I got used to it, there were some insane battle sequences, and then when they did finally get back together was the only time I've teared up reading this, so... it balanced out? Maybe that and Odrsjot count as favorites for their giant climaxes.
Also you said you don't know of anyone who's gotten through Foal of the Forest... well, now (actually as of last November) you do. I'm just a chapter into the sequel so far, but since it's relatively short (far more so than most other installments in that series), maybe I'll polish it off before moving forward in Austraeoh and Starlight Act 3 (hopefully finish Act 2 tonight)... but maybe after catching up with Triptych... decisions.
* * *
...Welp, looks like I'm going to be reading some more into Starlight Act 3 instead.

There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty.Ha! I remember saying that, it was a long time ago. Ironically, I now know another person who's made it through Foal of the Forest: myself.
And the sequel.
And Book 3.
That's the point where I just could not stand reading it any longer and was finally 100% convinced it was never going to get any better, so I quit. The whole series is nine books long.
I suppose someone who's a fan of soap opera action fics would enjoy it.

I find the idea apparently common in ACB fics that Equestria knew before hand about Earth and humans, that they teleported to Earth deliberately to make humans into Ponies and that a physical chunk of space was teleported as opposed to the two universe universes merging together to be full of Fridge Logic and bad writing in general.
At last, the pony story that drew my attention from my other pony story. Here's the rough draft to the first part of That One Time Where Pinkie Pie Romances All Her Friends.
So early today I released the latest chapter of my Digimon/Pony fic as part of a mini-arc I've planned since 2014 that parallels Over A Barrel, and I wrote it with the express intention of setting it up to avoid the kind of "both-sidesy" approach seen in many stories based on real-world colonial conflicts.
Later the exact same day, Lindsay Ellis a video about Disney's Pocahontas why writing this kind of story makes me nervous by illustrating the very kind of thing that I want to avoid:
I'm not honestly sure whether to feel weirded out, grateful for the helpful analysis of what not to do, or more anxious that I might actually screw this up.
Pretty late draft, as it took me a bit to get traction, between work going berserk and writer's block trying to stuff up the gaps. Once I finally broke through, though, it all came together.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshi@Zennistrad: In my experience of writing First Nations characters as a very white Canadian, that anxiety is useful. If you're constantly thinking if you're doing things right, then you're constantly checking yourself to make sure you aren't going offside. And, since I know at least a few of those stories have their issues, it allows you to look back on your failures and learn from them as well.
Fear keeps you sharp; arrogance gets you killed. Or, well, hurts people.

Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Chapter Four of Damaged Goods is drafted.
Very mild spoilers for an upcoming episode; specifically, one character's parents are present in the chapter and are mentioned by name.

I totally caved and watched it early just so I'd have time to prepare my current story, "Damaged Goods", for what it reveals. AJ's parents are going to be important to a portion of the story, and I needed to know if it would be possible to be consistent with "The Perfect Pear" and, if so, how much salvaging I would have to do to keep as much of my plans intact as possible.
I've got the review for it sitting on my hard drive to be posted as soon as the episode airs in the U.S., because I like making those on the spot with live reactions.
To my surprise, the answer to, "How much of my story can still work?" wound up being, "ALL OF IT!" I hit the Canon Jackpot; the only changes I need to make are in places where the concepts and ideas introduced in the episode actually improve some of the scenes I've made notes of.
The only point of contention is that in "The Crystal Ball", AJ explicitly says her mom is a city pony from Manehattan. But the episode reveals that Buttercup being a Pear is a tightly-kept secret that even AJ never knew, so that hole can be easily plastered over with four words: she was lied to.
