There's two blurry screenshot covers in the featured box right now
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."You know, for all the fanfics and headcanons that this new episode violently overturned, it turns out the episode also confirmed a random bit of my writing. Of course, the story in question was a crack fic.
(For context: owing to time travel shenanigans, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon [c. season 4] are meeting grown-up Apple Bloom.)
“Why, if it weren’t for these two scamps, I’da never met Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo! And I wouldn’t’ve earned my cutie mark, either!”
“And what a cutie mark it is!” Luna chimed in. “Truly worth the wait, wasn’t it, Apple Bloom?”
“You betcha!” Apple Bloom hugged the fillies even tighter.
Yeah. I did think that was funny
I'm beginning to suspect that my Jekyll and Hyde crossover is a waste of time. Luna's character is inconsistent and the story structure is haphazard.
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."So it's true to the musical, then?

"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."For a long time I've been contemplating when to return to original fiction. I figured I had done everything I could with fanfic and it was time to move on. The Jekyll crossover and the culture clash story were going to be my final fanfiction projects before I returned to original fiction.
Considering both of said stories were duds, however, perhaps its a sign
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."Holy crap, the new Austraeoh is shaping up to be the longest one yet.
There is no beginning. There is no end. There is only... Hooty. For some reason, my brain can't shake the idea of a Valiant Hearts-esque puzzle-adventure game based off Fallout Equestria.
Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.Hey, does anybody mind if I bump this thread? I write fanfiction too, and I just somebody to talk too.
I don't think you really need to bump it. I mean, it's slow, but far from dead. If you want to throw around a fanfic topic, though, go right ahead—it's what this thread is here for, anyway.
FE: New Mystery Fresh Cart Lunatic 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiComparatively it's not even that slow, it just happens to be in a bit of a lull at this moment.
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.Well, I guess I'll introduce myself then... I'll try not to self-promote myself too much.
I'm Couch Potato, but in Fimfiction my name is North Crusader. I've been writing MLP fan fiction for a few years, and I currently have 34 stories, although some of them are not completed and others I'm planning to rewrite entirely. I like to write short slice of life stories, but sometimes I like to test my skills in other genres.
That's about it.

Welcome to the thread.
One thing to know about this thread; "[T]his thread has always worked in bursts—a week of nothing, ten pages about what material AJ's hat is made of, a week of nothing, seven pages about fictional politics, repeat "
Naturally, the thread followed that up with a discussion about what Applejack's hat is made of. Why I love you guys
"The only way to truly waste an idea is to shove it where it doesn't belong."Welcome!
Seraph, I've been reading Wasp and Spider, mostly because of how much you like it. Does the title have anything to do with the story? At all?
It's kind of a symbolic title, it's supposed to be a reference to certain wasps that lay their eggs inside spiders bodies, the wasp larva hatch and grow inside of the spider, slowly consuming it until the spider dies, and the wasps emerge.
Same overall deal, ponies are the wasps, The Masters are the Spiders. The ponies emerge from the Masters civilization, which gets destroyed in the process, leading to the Ponies surviving and thriving.
I think.
How is it so far?

@Couchpotato: Welcome to the insanity.
Reaction Image Repository...I feel really bad that when I saw this fic I immediately thought "Oh great, another asshole in a costume goes to equestria fic"
only to find out that it isn't that at all. It's an actual, legit crossover.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!About 3/4th in. I like it, but certainly not as much as you do. Reminds me of my feelings toward Harmony Theory—I can see why someone might really like the story, even though it doesn't do it for me.
The difference is that I stopped reading Harmony Theory because I got too bored, while I very much want to compete Wasp and Spider.

Ah you're at the part where it hits the biggest issue for me, the climax. It's freaking awesome and yet, drags things out WAAAAAAY to long. Biggest issue with the series overall, just how long it tries to hold tension and keep the action scenes or build up going. But that's more a factor of it being so detailed, that an entire chapter could only be like, ten minutes in actual time passing in the story.
So, am I alone in thinking this works scarily well as a backstory for the Equestria of FOE? Just how simlar the tech is? How well these events work with what Luna and Celestia end up doing, etc...
One of the characters I plan for my story, which I'll say again has humans as just another race in Equus, is a human raised from a baby by ponies in Equestria, now an adult out on his own. His name is Adam Apple, some measure of cousin to Applejack.
What kind of insight do you think he could offer another human from outside Equestria and pony society? Given any canon, headcanon or fanon you care to think of, what sort of aberrations would you expect a human foreigner to notice in the pony-raised human?
I'm looking more for ideas than speculation, since a helluva lotta information is missing from the equation.
"How do you manage to sing and perform insane choreography like that so quickly and so well?"
Trekkie, Brony, Warsie, Whovian and many more.
Uhhhh... example?
