Now now, it's all right.
I can agree with all that. It's the whole "Take a petty thing really seriously"-ness of tropes, combined with the whole caring-ness and funness of those who tend to become tropers, that's what's convinced me to become a troper in the first place. They're such a swell group of people! :D They're accepting and they don't mind what we talk about, as long as we're talking about it.
Tropers rule. :3
tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)WHAT WHO ARE YOU?
But thank you. :3
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅGlad you like it here, Rich. And you're almost correct that OTC is one of the few sections where you have to stay on topic. The others are Trope Repair and Image Pickin, because those are where the Serious Business happens, and the Wiki Talk and Trope Talk sections,as well as Pinned threads in general, although most of those allow a little leeway.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.TV Tropes is truly a unique place. This site is a gem, an internet wonder. Both for the fantastic community and the site itself and it's content that the friendly and even-handed administrators dutifully maintain.
yeyAgreed.
What did we do to you?

The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.I hate everyone very slightly on principle, so it's nothing personal.
"I've come to the conclusion that this is a very stupid idea."@OP: I ♥ U 2 :3
Yes, but you also hate yourself don't you?
hashtagsarestupidEh, TV Tropes has been a mixed bag for me. I know a lot of people here who are pretty cool, but I've also noticed one or two people who are either dicks or just plain weird.
"Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste."There's nothing wrong with weird people. Without them, this site probably wouldn't exist (and I'd definitely enjoy it less).
In closing, I love you guys!

hashtagsarestupidYou seem pretty alright.
"Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste."On average, tropers are indeed quite eccentric. But that's what this makes this site so special - you'll learn that wackos can actually be quite nice and interesting if the conversation is limited to the internet.
The sin of silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.For me, TV Tropes is pretty awesome. There are a few whinebags, but that's a given with anything. What I love is that a discussion about the 'trips character X makes' has made can turn into 'why the hell cats are funny?' to 'dude, I have a 3DS.' Everything here is made for awesome. It's like a free cake. Its delicious, and... it's free.
It's a lot better place than any other forum I've been on but it makes me disregard so many other things.
"Liar liar on the wall, give the world to me..."In the spirit of goodwill, I will openly confess that to me, the TV Tropes forum is a festering cesspool writhing with the lowest breeds of pestilential vermin, and I wouldn't let any of my bodily fluids make contact with you if you were on fire.
By which I mean to say that this place is pretty sweet.
Aww, did I hurt your widdle fee-fees?Deca: So still better than the rest of the internet? :P
ᐅᖃᐅᓯᖅ ᐊᑕᐅᓯᖅ ᓈᒻᒪᔪᐃᑦᑐᖅTV Tropes has found a nice balance between freedom of expression to keep things interesting and good, consistently enforced rules to keep things civil. Having a mostly great group of forum regulars helps, too. I have learned a lot from this site, and you guys here have really helped grow as a person and develop a lot of opinions that I have now. I'm thankful I found this site so young.
"War doesn't prove who's right, only who's left." "Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."I said I wouldn't put out the fire, not that I'd set you all on fire in the first place. Take that as a recommendation.
Aww, did I hurt your widdle fee-fees?So that means...
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)
This thread makes me a little sad. I think this is a phase everybody goes through, before the disillusionment sets in.
Don't get me wrong, I love this site and we have a great community here. But it has its problems. I think they're just harder to notice than on some other sites until you stick around for a while.

..but I honestly think I love you guys.
Where else could a talk about the latest MLP cartoon evolve (or devolve, take your pick) into a multi-page RP, which was one of the funniest things I've seen and been a part of this year?
You guys are so seriously non-serious that this place is actually fun to be at; unlike any other wiki anywhere having fun is equally important as the info you input, if not more so. Topics tend to mutate into the damnedest things and yet somehow still manage to stay on topic.
And nobody minds. I think this is the only board of them all where staying on topic is a prerequisite.
Don't you try anything, you baked good you.
