I know nothing about the series in question, but if it's a blatant spoiler then we should definitely pull it.
Pulled for spoiler. Also, it's a bad image overall judging by the caption.

Fight smart, not fair. Here's one I did for the trope:
...maaaaaaaybe...
Watermarks bad. and really lets not go there with that kind of image... Only thing I can think of is Otaku O'Clock reference or something like Nanoha friendly image then a Befrending in progress" picture.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!What watermark?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Bottom right corner.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYou're going to have to be more specific with "that kind of image" because I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
...
Anyway, here's the second image I made:
looks too weird
i prefer madoka since that show is totally not meant for little girls
hidamari sketch can be for little girls
this is a madoka magica one

Caption: No, you're not.

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone? You're suggesting an example, the image has to work without having heard of the work.
Fight smart, not fair.I was talking about the bad text and the bashing bottom image.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Having trouble coming up with a good pic, but might we use something from the recent brony phenomenon?
Belief or disbelief rests with you.I think you're being over sensitive over this. I don't see how my first image has any bashing considering it's just a picture of dudes reading manga. Second image I admit I could see possible bashing.

This trope isn't about shows with a Periphery Demographic, it's about shows that look like they're for little girls, but are aimed towards other audiences. I disagree that something like My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic is a valid example, simply because the producers are aware of the Periphery Demographic. It is specifically targeted to little girls. A valid example would be targeted to a different demographic, and possibly little girls being the Periphery Demographic in this case.

Madoka Magica, Lyrical Nanoha and Hidamari Sketch are all good examples of this. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and Pretty Cure are not.
I'd forgotten about this thread, actually.
Madoka Magica is good for this.
I think we need two pictures.
One for the cover image: Like this◊, or this◊.
Then we have one that shows what it actually is.
My preferred possibility is the "evil pringles man◊" of the "Once you pop, you can't stop" meme. It was a very effective image for the What I watched, what I expected, what I got image for Madoka.
It's in the first episode so not much of a spoiler either.
Another possibility would be an image of Homura with her weapon of choice: shotguns◊, machine guns◊ Rambo style◊, about to shoot you◊.
The Homura images would lend themselves to some nice captions... but I still prefer the evil pringle puff balls.
[EDIT: Jumped to conclusion about trope from title and bottom example, in hindsight pic that I thought was barely good enough was barely not good enough.]

No. Just... No. That's a textbook case of JAFAAC. You are new to this forum, aren't you?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. Not at all. I just saw MLP:FIM in the example section, and figured a screenshot that "on the surface looks like it's for little girls (ponies) but is evidently intended to also appeal to others when you think about it" would be good for an image, especially if the caption directs attention to the latter. How else do you plan on going about demonstrating this? The other images involve two-panel things where the bottom isn't even proven to be about the show featured in the top. That seems awfully arbitrary.
That said, in hindsight the example isn't quite like the description (got the wrong idea as to what the trope was about) and that's enough extra reason to scrap it.

I think Madoka Magica + Modern Weapons is a good way to go about this without spoilering something that important.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I'd just like to remind people that the treshhold that counts for little girls in Japan is high, even for Magical Girls. For example, popular horror series like Vampire Princess Miyu, Hell Girl, and Pet Shop Of Horrors? All of them are Shoujo.

Haha, I never checked where Jigoku Shoujo originally ran, it was a Nakayoshi manga. Thats hilarious. Only thing that would have been better is if it ran in Ribbon.
But regardless, we should try not to use images from shows that were, in fact, aimed at "little girls", since thats not really the trope, thats a different trope.
Argh. This thread keeps pissing me off. Every time it comes up, I bust my ass trying to find the perfect image and find NOTHING.
This is the best I came up with. I desperately wanted to do something with the "What I Watched, What I Expected, What I Got" meme but I just couldn't get it to work. Listening to this probably didn't help.

So yeah, Madoka Spoilers!
What Do You Mean, It's Not for Little Girls?
Great image for illustrating the concept, but a rather huge spoiler, we can probably do better, maybe even still from Madoka.
So, suggestions?
Also, motion to pull, based on being a spoiler!
