I had always thought it was in the regular Mario canon, just with the paper-y art style.
Also, doesn't seem lik there will be a (playable) Paper Luigi, since the X button is used for Overworld abilities.
Well, Mario could turn into origami in TTYD, so the paper in Paper Mario has been more than an aesthetic thing since as early as the second game.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon. There was a different justification for that though, he got cursed.
Of course, even if the Paper Mario games happen in an alternate universe, it's entirely possible the games' plots still happened in the regular Mario universe. Heck, maybe the two worlds are literally exactly the same besides one being made out of paper.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Hence, "a few jokes here and there".
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! But it's not a throwaway joke. It's an entire gameplay mechanic.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Well, you know what I meant. Or maybe not.
I dunno.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! That makes less than no sense seeing as they were 3 of the 4 games represented as art style and Bowser Jr was only in 1. But seeing as the goal of this E3 is to specifically fuck with me, I guess it makes sense in a cosmic horror "the longer you stare at it the crazier you become" kind of way.

The Koopalings couldn't be placed anywhere since they had specific attack styles that relied on the room they were in. Some of which have physics that aren't in Super Mario Maker. Bowser, meanwhile, just jumps up and down, shoots fireballs, and maybe throws hammers. You can easily place him anywhere. Also, I don't recall Bowser Jr. being in Super Mario Maker either.
Think before you complain.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yo.◊
Even if they were just palettes for Bowser Jr by shaking him like changing the other enemies, that'd be preferable to nothing.
That's disappointing, but I can't say I'm too surprised.
Smash is one thing, this is another. I'd much rather them not be all the same and boring.

Trans rights are human rights.Hopefully, if this does well, there'll be a Super Mario Maker 2. If nothing else, the Koopalings would probably be at the top of a short list of features to add to the sequel.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Along with Super Mario All-Stars art styles for SMB 1 and 3?
And a Super Mario Bros. 2 art style even if the physics aren't brought over with it?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! So 8-bit mode will have a lot of costumes. Too bad the Pokemon won't be usable. I want my Charizard platforming adventure.
I want to make Bullet Bill Launchers that fire Super Bowsers.
Like, make a wall of them on tracks to force you to progress through the stage at a steady rate.
Title the stage "Bowser's Big Blast."

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I REALLY hope we can have Bullet Bowser Launchers now. But I get the feeling he'll be excluded.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Considering there's at least 80 costumes, and the total amiibo announced(excluding the AC cards, since there's likely going to be tons of those.) being a few short, I'd say there's a decent chance of some of the Pokemon getting a costume.
I watched a little bit of someone playing Doki Doki Panic and I got thinking... Does Nintendo own the rights to Wart? It seems like they are only ever capable of using him in re-releases of Mario Bros. 2. Is there a reason they can't just have him appear in a new game?
The reason's probably being that he's very unknown nowadays, so including him as the final boss in a game all of a sudden would probably elicit a collective mass reaction of "Wait, who the fuck is that frog, where's Bowser???" from a lot of people.
And considering how a lot of casual gamers refuse to even try anything even remotely different than the classic 2D Jump'n'Runs, having a different villain is probably going to cause them to cry Ruined Forever as well.
(had that happen with a classmate in vocational school about the Mario RP Gs. He was like "But I wanna jump on an enemy! This is stupid!", even though you still, y'know, jump on enemies in the Mario RP Gs)

I think Nintendo owns the rights to all the characters used in Doki Doki Panic except the four protagonists because those were FUJI TV characters that Nintendo was allowed to use. Nintendo created all the enemies so they own the rights to them.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureMaybe they just don't see any reason to drag him out of obscurity.

Trans rights are human rights.I hope that when they update the game to make way for DLC styles, they'll add things like Yoshi to SMB1 and SMB3 and make different powerups available between styles.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. It's a shame becaues Wart would have been great to have in Dream Team.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
Which is kinda lame if you asked me.
I liked it better when the paper thing was more of a light aesthetic choice, with a few jokes here and there but otherwise relatively unacknowledged in-universe.
Whereas Sticker Star's humor seems to revolve solely around "Hey, look at us! We're made of paper! And that's made of paper too! Isn't that funny?"
