That's right, folks. Not a feminist, a humanist. I don't look at issues based primarily on their impact on women, I look at them based on their impact on humanity as a whole.

I'm pretty much a Defector from Decadence with regards to feminism. Feminists' actions rarely match their dictionary-defined goal of equality, in my opinion.

Postscript directed at the history thread: I am also a democrat, not a monarchist. Rottweiler may be a monarchist, but I am not.

Not a feminist, a humanist.

Why are these two mutually exclusive, now?

I know they are not mutually exclusive. I've explained why I don't identify with feminism, even though I do with humanism.

I assume this is a challenge of territory. The first poster is claiming dominance by claiming to be superior to feminist people.

I don't identify as masculist either. That's another "one gender comes first" term.

Please elaborate... Forgive me but I'd like to hear the "full story".

Well, I was a feminist. Yahoo!Answers Gender Studies section helped changed my mind on that. Because coming up against opposition caused me to research and reexamine my points of view. My previous point of view was, as is generally the feminist perspective, that society was biased towards men. But now, my point of view is more that historically, men and women were both constrained by their gender roles, and now, both sexes suffer from double standards in at least equal measure.

I like postgenderism, personally. It's a bit too strongly tech-focused but that's cool too. Postgenderist is is really almost a synonym for radical feminist though. [1]

No offense, but I don't think Yahoo Answers is really a bastion of rational unbiased thought.

And as someone else mentioned, "Humanism" already has a meaning, which is not the one you using.

ON-Topic, people.

Yahoo Answers is not the topic.

Liegh, you've made a statement. What, exactly did you want to discuss? Right now, there's not a lot to discuss, unless you're inviting other people to refute your statement that "[you] are a humanist".
