Good rap/hip hop is vanishingly rare in video games as it is, but this takes the cake for the goofiest.
The music in the Need For Speed FMVs, like this one:

One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -Landstanderentire soundtrack: Violent Storm. The stage 3 rap is the highlight but half of the soundtrack is like that. It's amazing.

Oh yeah, Need For Speed II also had music that was its own kind of cheese:
(Don't worry, the video is there, there's no preview image because of shenanigans.)

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelSaying "Sonic games" is almost too easy.
But I'll throw a nomination in the direction of the Legend Of Spyro trilogy. It tries so, so hard to be an Epic and Cinematic soundtrack, and most of it just sounds like generic "LOOK AT ME I AM SO CINEMATIC" stuff. The Award-Bait Song at the end of the third game is pretty glorious in its cheese, though.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~Madrugadax4 I see your "Can You Feel The Sunshine" and raise you:
...◊
Anyway, I have this to offer to this thread. I don't hate the song in question - in fact, I actually like it - but well... just listen to it:
NOW IT'S SWING TIIIIIIME!!!! FLYIN FOR JUSTICE! SWING TIIIIIIIME!!! TAKE NO PRISONERS! SWING TIIIIIIME!!! BRING ON THE BIG GUNS!! SWING TIIIIIME!!! KNOCKIN TROUBLE OUUUUUUT!!!
Gotta love the 90s.
Eternity from Blue Dragon
Seeing all these piss ant tropers trying to talk tough makes me laugh. If Matrix were here, he'd laugh too.Don't get me wrong, I'm probably one of the few people who enjoyed the OST for that game (the Airship, Clock Tower, and River stages were my faves), seeing as I like jazz. But that has to be the worse character select BGM I've heard in a while. Damn you, MvC3 and your need to cater to the hardcore tournament scene and whatnot.

Mv C 3's music sadly isn't that much better. In a few ways it's actually more bland. And the clock tower, harbor, and cave were okay tracks.
I rather liked Eternity. It's pretty good in a Shonen-ish way. It fits Blue Dragon well.

I didn't say the song was bad. I like it too.

Narmiest moment in the game for me, solely because this song played in the scene, ruining what was otherwise a great, if cliche, moment in the game.

"Cheesy" does not imply "bad," you know.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaWell yeah, but some out there are bad because they're so cheesy.
Hence the tropes So Bad, It's Good and Narm Charm.
I still can't believe no one's mentioned the most awesomely-cheesy game song ever...
JUST LIKE THE WIND... I'VE ALWAYS BEEN... DRIFTING HIGH UP IN A SKY THAT NEVER ENDS...
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Unlike Sonic I don't chuckle. I'd rather flex my muscles.
Wut.
The Sonic Adventure 2 version by Hunnid P was a bit less cheesy. Then again, anything by that guy was kinda silly, in the So Bad, It's Good kind of way. Still love the Image Songs for all of Knux's stages in SA2 though. Love 'em to death.
So which game have you played would you say has the cheesiest soundtrack? Just curious .
