Eh, there was that Literal Music Video version of "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" already. Not that a BLR version would really be the same thing, but still. I do like the idea of them branching off into older artists though; at very least I'd sorta like to see another "collaboration" along the lines of Ludacris and The Bee Gees.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.I personally like "Morning Dew" and "Magic Man" the most.
Then again, I haven't heard "Dirty Spaceman" in a while.

I'm having to learn to pay the priceWelp, "Gang Fight" got blocked for copyright reasons.
I guess everyone knew it was a possibility, but I'm still disappointed.
Tumblr here.Dang, that sucks.
In happier news, a youtube channel dedicated to Mario Paint-izing BLR songs has somewhat recently come into existence:

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.Oddly enough, I can occasionally pick out lyrics that would be pretty good for actual pop songs, like "I'm an alchemist, the beat is my base metal."
Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe.Actually, almost the entirety of "(Rockin') All Nite Long" could be a genuine pop song that could even get airplay with only a few minor adjustments to awkward-sounding lyrics. I say almost, of course, because the rapping at the end descends into complete absurdity.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone. The same is kind of true for Russian Unicorn.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."...
um no not really????
that's kind of just crazy from beginning to end
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I'm tired and drunk. Things make more sense to me in this state than they should.
My appologies.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Lol no it's all right.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I totally agree that Russian Unicorn has the catchiness of a pop song, though.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Oh, no, they're all catchy as fuck. Everybody Poops is criminally catchy, but there's no way that would ever get airplay.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.Gang fight works for me.
Keeper of The Celestial FlameYup, it looks like they successfully disputed the claim.
So guess what BLR branched out into?
The Obama one they link to at the end of the video is just as good (or even better.)

Tumblr here. The Obama one sounds kind of MGMT-ish, especially the chorus. That and the Rick Perry video have a few references in common, so I now like to imagine that in the parallel universe of BLR, intelligent goats * and ice cream shortages are among the major political issues of the day.
It took me a while to come around to it, but "(Rockin') All Night Long" might be my favorite so far: the "normal" lyrical content makes Wiz Khalifa stopping by to rap about ice cream pigs and wooden octopi that much funnier, and much as I like their Word-Salad Humor, it's entertaining to see one where the joke seems to be more about making an artist sing lyrics that run completely counter to their image.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage. That makes me think, if they read a 50 cent song, would they make them incredibly friendly pacifists?
Soul is ugly.A few artists I would really like to see these guys do:
So now there's a Michelle Bachmann one:
Apparently the deal is that they plan on doing these "soundbite" clips between songs, since they're easier to do.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.New song!
I dunno, I don't find it as catchy as some of their earlier songs, but it will probably grow on me at least a little the more I listen to it.
Tumblr here.I like it. Maybe not as overtly earwormy as past efforts, but it's still got a nice melody to it, and the lyrics are generally pretty hilarious.
Also, it's occurred to me that be it "sound bite" or song, pretty much every BLR video mentions some kind of food at least once. I don't even think it's something they're going out of their way to do either - it's sort of like how a lot of the more well-known mondegreens end up being about food.

Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage.'Bout time we got another one around here!
Glad to see it's still going:
...And now we're finally back to pop songs:
Musically it's kind of got an "indie electronic" vibe - with different lyrics I could almost see it being a Miike Snow or Passion Pit song.

"And a little poodle got its coat on."
And Jay-Z still never looks at the camera. I wonder what's off to the side?
