For some reason, I keep thinking that this is that universally panned "documentary" shot in some guy's basement where George Lucas gets blamed for 9/11.
More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/The documentary also pointed something out I never noticed: in Attack Of The Clones, Jar Jar stares directly into the camera and smiles - a not-so-subtle Creator Backlash Take That!.
Jonah Falcon^Something I didn't notice and I'm betting most others failed to see it as well. I'm sure as hell not going to rewatch that movie to find out.
If true: wow George. Not only is that petty man-childish of you, you fail so hard at film making that the audience doesn't even notice your Take That! attempts. Or maybe it's because your Take That! is indistinguishable from the rest of the flim...
Because Jar Jar smiling in the direction of the camera is really a Take That!.
Even if it's true, and he did it for the hate Jar Jar got, it's more likely a playful jab at the complainers than some kind of petty bullcrap.
I've heard George Lucas has a statue of Jar Jar in carbomite at Skywalker ranch, which to me indicates he recognizes how much the character was hated.
I haven't watched anything by Lucas since I started thinking that he might be a pedophile.
Which is a shame, because I love Star Wars.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Didn't you hear? He originally wanted Indiana Jones to be a pedophile. Apparently that would have been, to use his words, "interesting."
Then there's Ashoka Tano, based on his own daughters, with a barely-there outfit reportedly designed by George personally! There's only so much of this that can happen and not have me wonder...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Is it sad that I supported the same crack pot theory when I heard that Lucas had a "personal hand" in Ahsoka's design?
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Roman Polanski is apparently a pedophile, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying The Pianist.
Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens. So, if I write a story that's populated with morally grey people because I find it interesting, it is because I am those morally grey things myself?
Read my stories!Ditto.
In any case, the only reason to suspect Lucas of being a pedophile is the fact that he took a character he based off his daughter and designed a stripperific outfit for her, and even that may be pretty iffy.
Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.Even that is meh. She might be wearing a stripper outfit, as you say, but from my experiences watching the show, it's not that sexualized.
Read my stories!Mmhmm. I'm pretty sure Vladimir Nabokov was not a pedophile and he actually wrote about the adventures of a pedophile.
I happen to be reading that book right now. It's damn good.
Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.I need to read that book...
Read my stories!I have so little desire to see this film that the English language cannot even begin to adequately describe my sense of disgust at its very existence. Seriously, I am so goddamn sick of whiny-ass 'fans' bitching about how horrible George Lucas allegedly is. I don't give a crap if anyone is still upset over any supposed lack of quality in the prequel trilogy. What's done is done, and everyone needs to shut the fuck up about it.
I fully expect the next post in this thread to kindly point out that I've completely missed the point of something here. If said post is friendly and polite, I intend to thank the poster kindly, accept their correction, and do my research before making another rant.
https://www.facebook.com/emileunmedicatedanduncutI haven't seen the movie, but I get the impression that it's less a George Lucas hate-fest than it is a look at the controversy.
Quite frankly, I get sick of all the Lucas-bashing myself. Still waiting on an explanation as to why the fridge nuke from "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" is any worse then (heck, as bad as) the giant pitcher of water from "Temple of Doom."
Fanfiction I hate.I never did like Temple of Doom in the first place. In fact, we always skip that one.
Personally, I thought the fridge nuke was hilarious and awesome in an impossible way.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.Same here, usually. I mean, it's not a truly bad film, it just pales compared to the other 3 Indy flicks.
EDIT: On the subject of Star Wars, I present my guide to the franchise's fandom, in one convenient graph: http://cheezburger.com/View/4744907776

https://www.facebook.com/emileunmedicatedanduncutI liked Temple of Doom, but mostly cause of Indy being shirtless. Mwahahah.
Read my stories!^^You forgot to add a section to that pie chart for Star Wars fans bitching about Star Wars fans bitching. I empathize with your ire, if not in Star Wars, then in other fandoms. Big time.
If this movie is a hate/bash fest, then yeah, I don't see a point for me in watching it. The prequels sucked, but the great original trilogy is still with us (even if Lucas won't release the original version on Blu Ray or other current formats). Lucas isn't worth the added blood pressure. Plinkett's Red Letter Media reviews allowed me to heal what little trauma I suffered.
If you can assume even that. From what I've heard, this generation finds the original trilogy dreadfully boring.
Read my stories!
Saw it today at the Cinema Village. It doesn't cover any real new ground, but it's very funny, and it's nice to see some of the fan videos, including a very dangerous version of Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Oh, and Neil Gaiman gives an interesting perspective, too.
