I still think that people who pretend to be all nice but are assholes are more annoying though.

Anyway, despite the complaints about the show, I actually liked some episodes of season 10.

I just have to say this, the show's excuse for treating Brian badly is just plain bad.

"We can do this sort of thing to you because you're a dog"

That just seems wrong to me. Animals are not just here for humanity to torment at their leisure, they are living beings with feelings and emotions that have as much right to be on Earth as humans (possibly more, since they were here first). It's that kind of thinking that makes possible futures like "Planet of the Apes" seem like a well deserved fate for humanity. We treated the animal kingdom badly, it's just their turn.

Peter once said that he could throw Brian off a bridge and as long as he didn't hit a person on a boat, it would be okay. That doesn't sound right, shouldn't there be laws that keep people from doing things like that to animals? But, then again, Peter should have been locked away for years after all the things he's done

[up]Agreed on that. That example you mentioned struck me the wrong way precisely because of how obviously illegal it is.

I don't mind them poking fun of him only having a few years or eating garbage but a lot of the time they act as if animal abuse isn't actually a thing punishable by the law.

I think Joe is one of the more likable characters left on this show. And even then, he's not off the hook seeing as how he does nothing when people are committing crimes. Like in reality, someone would've reported Peter and Lois and Joe would've arrested them.

What's that episode where Lois becomes mayor of Quahog and in the end, Adam West cheers saying he gets to be mayor and shoots the guy who says they'd have to have a new election all over again?

I'm not trying to complain or derail this thread, but I remember having a debate with a fan on how Meg isn't a saint and how she shouldn't call out her family members on their shitty/abusive treatment towards her.

While I certainly agree that Meg is no saint, I can see why some fans would take her side.

In this show, many people tend to get away with things when they do deserve punishment. What makes Meg different from the others is that whenever Meg does something wrong, she is almost always called out on it or punished in a way. Plus, Meg is the show's Butt-Monkey, so it's not like she never gets crap. However, when Peter, Lois, and/or Chris is mean to her or does bad things in general, they are almost never called out on their behavior and they are treated in the right.

Peter at least gets horribly maimed sometimes at the end of episodes for his shit. The worst that usually happens to Lois is her feelings getting hurt only for someone to salvage them at the last minute or something like that.

The only times i can remember Meg being a "jerk" were back in the early seasons of the show, back when Lois actually was a loving wife and mother, and had a (passable) reason to stay with Peter, and when Peter and Chris' stupidity was a bit more endearing and mainly effected them themselves more than it did others. And even then, Meg was still likable, she was just the typical teenage girl, she wasn't a bad girl, she was just angsty and troubled like all girls her age.

Now, she the only member of the Griffin family that i feel any sympathy for when bad things happen to her, since she's the only one didn't have it coming.

[up][up][up]Yes Peter and Lois haters! grin. They are my most hated characters of all time (even tho I hate Lois slightly more because of how the show treats her, I swear I think she's a Creator's Pet).

[up][up] I think that's why I hate Lois slightly more than I hate Peter, simply because the show always sympathizes with her and try to make her look as innocent as possible, even when she's being a dick. With Peter, he can be a Butt-Monkey sometimes.

[up] Yeah Meg was a Bratty Teenage Daughter, but at least her parents tried to be decent people.

[up]See, I like them both in the pre-cancellation seasons. Where Peter had a Heart of Gold and Lois was caring parent. I have no idea what happened to them in universe that changed their personalities.

Brian's another character I despise in the post-cancellation episodes.

My question's kinda getting buried here, so I'm gonna ask it again:

What's that episode where Lois becomes mayor of Quahog and in the end, Adam West cheers saying he gets to be mayor and shoots the guy who says they'd have to have a new election all over again?

Except for the time she tried to get Chris raped and the time she blackmailed him to the point where he ran away from home. Nothing Chris ever did to Meg was ever on that level. In fact, I maintain that she treats him worse than he does her. Most of the things he does to her can be chalked up to Annoying Younger Sibling behavior.

Or when Meg developed a psychotic fixation on Brian.

That ep where Chris treats a home made sex doll as a real girlfriend has been the most development I ever seen from Chris in years.

Can we just agree that nobody in the Griffin Family is a saint and leave it at that? I just think Peter and Lois are the worst out of all of them. Lol.

I actually prefer current Lois over original Lois but like original Peter over current Peter. Current Lois at least has a personality, if a horrible one, they just took Peter in a horrible direction, and the thing that annoys me most about him is probably not something you'd expect.

[up]I respect your opinion. However, I didn't mean their characters in general. I was talking about them being the worst when it comes to all the bad deeds they did.

Most of the things he does to her can be chalked up to Annoying Younger Sibling behavior.

I see what you're saying on the heinous stuff Meg did, but I kind of disagree with him being just an annoying sibling (in post cancellation sessions, at least). In earlier seasons, I agree that he was just a mere Annoying Younger Sibling who would taunt Meg every now and then, but it wasn't like bullying, and they were good siblings to each other. In later seasons, both Meg and Chris are awful siblings to each other. In Seahorse Seashell Party, Chris was at his worst to Meg there.

What exactly did he do in that episode again? From what I remember, that still isn't comparable to the two examples of Meg mistreating Chris listed above.

He joined Lois and Peter into bullying Meg, causing Meg to lash out at them. All I'm trying to say is that both Chris and Meg suck at being good siblings to each other (even though you're right about Meg trying to get Chris raped being a huge deal). I don't even hate Chris or Meg either. I hate the monsters that they call parents.

[up]That's not really comparable to almost drugging someone so you can watch them be raped.

Yeah, all of the Griffins are assholes to each other but that doesn't mean some aren't worse to others. Most of them are worse to Meg than she is to them. Meg happens to be worse to Chris than he is to her. I believe that is all Redhead311 is trying to say.
