Do you guys think "Anatoliy Corbeau" sounds like a good name for a character who is a composite of all the nameless protagonists of the AC series?
On another note, anyone who's interested in discussing and/or writing AC fanfics?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Discussing, sure. Writing... can't really help you with that. I've only played about the first third/half of Armored Core 3 (and kept losing interest due to the difficult controls), so I'm not all that familiar with everything.
OK, that's fair. What about the name?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I sorta miss these games.
I was glad when the first game came out on PSN earlier this year, but I wish the other ps1 and ps2 games would get the same treatment.
Given the success of Dark Souls, I don't think From Software is likely to revisit these games.
I find the last name highly appropriate. Where did that first name come from, though?
Wait, but AC 4 and ACFA's protagonists are explicitly different people.
I know. I'm making a Composite Character of all the Raven protagonists... who, with the exclusion of Leos Klein in his one and only non-protagonist appearance, are functionally identical to each other.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. But how would you handle Strayed and White Glint being in the same battle?
... Perhaps I should've mentioned that this Composite Character is not part of the canonical timeline. He's for a mega-crossover project that takes place in a heavily-modified Neon Genesis Evangelion AU setting, just a few months after a narrowly averted Third Impact.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Watch someone speedrun the original Armored Core any percent. Man I love this game.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2i loved ac4 and for answer, to the point playing the rest of the series was a big factor in me getting a ps2 earlier this year. project phantasma, formula front, and last raven (and the mobile phone games, but lol) are the only ones I don't own yet.
from soft's president as of 2014 (and director of AC4 and for answer):
Miyazaki added: “There seems to be some talk about how I dislike the Armored Core series, but that is simply not true. Actually, I’d even like to direct a new title myself.”

Totally down for Miyazaki's Armored Souls
Oh really when?I'm just asking, but did anyone get the plot of Armored Core when it first came out? I remember getting it as a kid and only playing it for the giant shooting robots. Now, I get the plots of 1, Master of the Arena which leads into 2. Still kind of confusing until you play Master of the Arena.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2I started with Another Age and was a touch too young to understand or even care about the plot.
Oh really when?Did you ever beat the 2 secret bosses in another age? Just asking I've heard they're harder than crap.
Hyped for Hyperdimension Neptunia V 2No, I never got very far in Another Age as it wasn't actually my game. That one was Nexus.
Oh really when?i usually don't care about storytelling and consider it the most disposable aspect of any given game, but i'm weird so I find the ac storylines actually interesting. Ac4 and for answer pretty much use S Oul's tactics of keeping stuff vague and have you dig deep to fill in the blanks, lol
one thing I don't get though, is master of arena a legit narrative sequel to ac1, or a retelling of it? spoilers:
in ac1, you discover the conspiracy behind raven's nest, rekt nine-ball and kill the ai
in master of arena, you discover the conspiracy behind raven's nest, rekt nine-ball and kill the ai (who is also nine-ball)
I don't get it?
So, been playing some 4A semi-recently.
Eventually managed to defeat White Glint.
....you know you really suck at the game when you have to resort to A-Team Firing and pray you eventually take down the enemy just from the sheer volume of rounds you're putting out there.
Nah, that's a totally valid strategy actually.
You suck when your only way to win is spamming kojima missiles.

Oh really when?I don't even know what Kojima weapons are, and have never used any, since I like him too much to shoot him at people.
Actually, I had the same problem in some of the arena fights in 3. Against at least one opponent, I actually ran out of ammo despite taking the only machine gun with an ammo capacity of 1000, AND an expansion part that increases my ammo capacity!
But that wasn't my hardest match, oh no. That was against the fucker who dual-wielded howitzers, could kill me with 5-6 hits and overheat me with two near-misses! It's true that he only had 30 shots or so, but I tended to die before he ran out of ammo. Bastard was also using a tank chassis, so it took me forever to kill him.
I eventually figured out that using a hover chassis is the way to go and has been sticking to that config ever since. I mean, I want to use a classic bipedal design, but it's just too suboptimal speed-wise.

Go Rayleonard or go home. That's always been my way of playing For Answer.
Oh really when?My favourite build for the AC games up to Nexus (after which the addition of clips make it kinda unpratical) is a quad with machine guns, ammo magazines and chain guns. The only time I ever came close to running out of ammo in the arena is against Death Penalty in AC 2.
Check the Playstation store: the original Armored Core is now available as a PS 1 Classic.
