I need some out-of-universe feedback. Those who've talked with or watched her: what's your general impression of Irilemi? I have a clear idea of what I want her to come across like, but I'm not sure I'm succeeding...
I like her, even though she does have a cynical view on the world.
Cynical is a word for it... She strikes me as rather abrasive, too, to an extent, and as having strong convictions. Maybe too strong, as she also seems prejudiced against "magic". Although, I suppose that's fairly justifiable, if she's from Aseyu's world.

Not entirely dead.Strong worded, opinionated, and a little self-righteous, but not unfriendly to those who don't fall into any of her vitriolic categories of people to regard with suspicion/distrust/hate due to their political or magical backgrounds. And she has proven that she can be reasoned with.
She strikes me as someone who's bad side you'd never want to be on.

the color todaySo far, it's looking more or less like Irilemi's making the right impression. The one point of note is "cynical:" see her furious rant on the topic, although it's worth noting that she could fit as cynical depending on how you define the word. Her definition of the word — like a lot of things about her worldview — is pretty rigid, though.
Waiting for Gault to post.
I find her as pretty rigid and unwilling to compromise her own beliefs, along with being self-righteous. She comes to me as kind of one of those internet guys you see in political discussions on how X is bad and no matter what you say.
I can see her being very infuriating. If Cain were the one talking to her, he wouldn't have the patience dealing with her.
"Life is eternal; and love is immortal; and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight." - R. W. RaymondIn my post, I was gonna bring up the Civil Rights Movement but then I realized "oh no this will turn into a history lesson" so I just decided to wrap it up as quickly as I could.
...Okay, folks, give me a moment to figure out how to respond to that.
...whoops. Er, Irilemi did just that. And she thinks it supports her position. (Don't you love debates between people with completely different historical perspectives?) It would be a bit out of character for her, but if you'd prefer, I could edit it to have her let the debate lie without tackling the last word.
Understandable — despite ostensibly being on the same side, she's a foil to the protagonists, after all, so the audience need not like her. Unless she's truly unbearable from an out-of-universe perspective. Then I have a problem.

No, no it's fine. You can keep it.
I'm not really sure what to post... Short of bringing in a new character (I wasn't planning on introducing anyone else until that next thread we talk about every now and again), I don't really have anything to do, and given the context both of my characters are in, it doesn't really make sense for either of them to get up and walk away.
Speaking of which, where did we leave off in that new-thread discussion?
Not entirely dead.Well some people like Character Quest and some don't and now we need to think of how we could make it work.
If not, we can just think of another thread (plot and all).
All right, I'm finally done with what I was doing. Should be able to start catching up in full and posting now. Sorry to anyone I've held up, although it doesn't look like that happened.
I'm definitely not included in that "we". And I think, like I said before, that we need to come up with an idea of exactly what everyone wants in general before throwing out any specific ideas.
Well, aside from avoiding the "where are we" scenario, I think we should try to not make it restrictive.
I'll respond more tomorrow after school and book club.
Waiting for Nrjxll to post.
yeyI'm okay with Quest, but the premise is a bit vague.
Also, I'm still in Mansion, I just don't have anything to respond to.
I've just realized that the whole thing about emotional investment in arguments was a bit of accidental Writer on Board. Oh well.
I think we really need to seriously start discussing the new thread, too.
Hi so how are you uh... collaborating writers been doing?

Help?.. please...On Mansion: Kinda stuck on what to do with Grimhilde. I'm also considering bringing in a third character (who would be unrelated to the two I already have in there).
On a new thread: I'm just looking for a thread that appeals to the widest variety of characters possible and that doesn't have a "how'd we get here" plot (as I've stated multiple times at this point).

Icon by Civvi the Civilian! How about something about exploring a new world? They don't have to be lost in it, it could just be a passage to a strange world has been discovered(maybe through a portal or even space) and people are sent to research it. A bit vague for now, but it could become less vague.
Just a suggestion, okay I'll shut up now.

Help?.. please...I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but don't be like that. We need ideas, and it's not like anybody else is taking much initiative on this.
I don't think it's a very good suggestion, honestly, but it's better than no suggestions at all.
That's the second time I've made page topper...
On Topic: I like the idea of exploring, but I fear it could lead to what happened to University again, which didn't really end well.
Also, input is good!
Oh goddamnit, I just finished writing a post for Mansion, ten minutes after Tehpillowstar's. Engh... time to kiss it goodbye and start over. :S
