That would be a sub trope, as it's about a specific reason for it.
I'll have what Routerie's having.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I honestly like the split idea. That seems a much better way to get actual tropes here. Barefoot Poverty might also be one to split it into.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI like the split.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSplitting fixes my biggest objections about this not being a trope by actually focusing on meaning rather than "This character isn't wearing shoes in this scene. It could be sexy maybe."
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickYup, bare feet, but with actually meaning something. That works for me.
Hmmm, I like a Barefoot Poverty idea the best.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI agree with splitting, but the crowner says otherwise. Do we want to clean up Foot Focus and list all instances of misuse to see if there is something tropable in there?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo where does that leave cases like Evangeline McDowel's feet getting particular focus in that one scene in the manga when she demands from her prospective apprentice Negi Springfield to lick her feet in return for agreeing to teach him? (FYI, that demand was promptly followed by Asuna Kagurazaka kicking her in the head, and it's quietly dropped after that.)
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. The crowner was a bit premature and what put up before we'd figured out what to even split into.
I think that one should be something for the general "Worship at my feet" trope. It's far from the only work that made people beg and kiss their feet. It's based on the idea that it's debasing to the character and that it proves the one who is getting kissed and licked is above them.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickShould we make a new one?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think it might be a good idea. This one was thrown up before the arguments were getting anywhere. That always ends with silly outcomes.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickPlus one for new crowner, especially since this particular one came around the Great Creepiness Panic of 2012.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSay, why not make Foot Focus (under a better name perhaps) an exampleless Super-Trope of the proposed subtropes, the same way Ice Queen and Applied Phlebotinum are to their many respective subtropes? It would force editors to check each subtrope and see if their example falls under it; if none of them cover their example, that could lead to a new subtrope being born.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Maybe it's better to create this supertrope as something different from the original definition of Foot Focus.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanViable, but we still need to change the crowner. Any objections to making a new one?

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerFoot Focus as a name doesn't say it's anything about bare feet, and very few of these proposed tropes would actually fit under the same supertrope. Having a uniting element does not mean they have a valid supertrope.
The whole reason we're splitting is because there is no trope uniting these other than being about feet.
What it might work as is an index of tropes about feet in general.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI prefer the index.
Shima, is it possible to unhook this and make a new crowner? I don't think it's possible to make it without getting rid of this one. =/
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerYay, no hooking of more than one crowner to a thread. Just make a new one and then holler for swapping.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow about as Bare Feet Focus? We already have This Index Is Made For Walking as an index of tropes about feet (and legs), BTW.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. You mean These Tropes Are Made for Walking.
"But... nobody told me I needed a signature!"I still doesn't see a reason to limit it to bare feet. The individual tropes, sure, but we don't have a subindex of just bare legs. We allow socks, and tights, and pants. I don't see why the feet being bare or not matters for the index.
It would just be a subindex of These Tropes Are Made for Walking either way as that trope covers things that are just clothing and about legs as well.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWell If the closeup is something important about clothes, then it needn't be limited to shoes.

Ok, I can't make a new page action crowner, because page action for Foot Focus brings me directly to this one. No idea how to change that.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
Crown Description:
How to fix Foot Focus (options not mutually exclusive).
Isn't Earthy Barefoot Character currently covered by Does Not Like Shoes?
Not that I would have any problem splitting that trope by connotation.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
