So, as a counterpoint to the other thread, this is where we talk about entries that we find incredibly amusing and intelligent. To start us out, I present the entirety of Real Life, which had me cracking up when I first read it.

Along with Harsher in Hindsight. "OMG, one time Alice said she was going to die in a car wreck and then 57 years later she died of cancer!"

I remember when someone honestly listed in Harsher In Hindsight:

"In the beginning of Final Fantasy VII, you work for terrorists who bomb a power plant. Five years later, 9/11 happened."

If 9/11 made people uncomfortable every time they saw something blow up on screen, Michael Bay would be out of a job.

Sheesh. That's like if someone wrote, "In 1969, The Beatles released a song called 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer'. 40 years later, the game Scribblenauts was released, in which you can give the protagonist Maxwell silver and a hammer!!"

But those tropes are really misused.

I'm actually shocked at myself that that idea never occurred to me before now.

Somebody needs to create a reenactment of the entire song and then set it to the music. I would, but I don't have anything to record from my DS, and I ain't using a camcorder.

They made a PC version? Or are you referring to emulators?

Wasn't aware of that. I'll have to check that out. I have Scrib and Super Scrib, but not Unlimited yet.

It's a buddy cop movie with dinosaurs.
That should be the awesomest thing in the history of ever, and they found a way to screw it up.

[up][up]That sounds interesting and cool, if a bit worrisome. I'm always wary of downloadable user-creations in vidya gaems, since, well, if there's any place that Sturgeon's Law is in effect...

On the YMMV section of Janes Addiction:

  • Fanon Discontinuity - Lots of people disparage or outright ignore Strays, and nobody really cares about the live album Jane's Addiction. Actually, the good rule of thumb here would be: it's not a JA album if the cover doesn't have any nudity.

(You kind of have to have seen the Contemptible Covers of Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual, the band's most respected albums, to get it)

Yeah... not getting the "contemptible" bit here. I mean, the first one isn't that great, I guess, but the second one is really good.

[up][up][up] DMOS can be amusing at times, but Wallbanger is just a mess. Why do we even still have that page? It's the same thing, just less organized.

Reading most of the pony show's Nightmare Fuel page makes one wonder whether or not most of the writers of the entries shit themselves every time an adorable little puppy crosses their path [lol]

[up] The sad thing? I think the nightmare fuel page for the show has been cut a lot.
