That's right! Trine, both Shadowgrounds games, and two others: Jack Claw (a game prototype) and Splot (available soon).

And it just started today.

Ugh, why are these Humble Indie Bundles always the same thing? It's almost always 2D platformer or top-down action games.

Grabbed it. Always wanted to give Trine a spin and, well, hey, charity.

^^^What they should be then? RPG? First Person Shooters?

Sure, why not? Sounds good.

Really, for every indie game that's something legitimately interesting like Barkley Shut Up and Jam Gaiden or Gemini Rue, there's a hundred retro platformers or self-indulgent "art" games like anything Tale of Tales has put out. Indie gaming is supposedly some bastion of creativity but it's pretty much just as stagnant as mainstream gaming,

Those are just, you know, really tough to build because of balance issues.

...The Shadowgrounds series is the same as the contents of the other two bundles? Am I missing something drastic here?

I'm not planning to get this, simply because I don't really see anything I want.

Hmm. Now I think about it...

World of Goo: Construction puzzle game.
Aquaria: Underwater Metroidvania.
Gish: Platformer.
Lugaru: 3D beat-em-up/stealth game.
Penumbra: First-person horror adventure.
Samorost 2: Point and click.
Braid: Puzzle platformer.
Cortex Command: ...Skirmish game?
Machinarium: Point and click.
Osmos: ...What do you even call this?
Revenge Of The Titans: TD/RTS.

I would call Cortex Command real-time strategy, just not Real-Time Strategy.

Osmos could probably be categorized as a puzzle or action game, though I've heard it being called "ambient".

So to add to the genre mix:

Trine: Puzzle RPG platformer (with an emphasis on puzzle and platformer)
Shadowgrounds: Third-person survival
Jack Claw: Third-person, unfinished game (not so sure about what it is yet)

Splot looks like it's at least going to be a platformer. My guess is as safe as anybody's.

Well, regardless of what genre the games are, I just don't see anything that interests me in this pack either.

I go and spend approximately half of what the games are worth for the bundle and give all the money to the Child's Play charity. My wife has worked in hospitals where Child's Play has donated games to, and it does a lot of good for the morale of those poor kids who are stuck in a boring-ass hospital for weeks/months/years on end. And, you know, if you're happy and engaged, time goes faster and you tend to heal faster. Isn't the human body cool like that?

Anyway, I recommend getting it. Even if you spend $5 bucks on it and only get 5 hours of play out of it, add to the fact that you're helping sick children out. If you don't approve of the games that are being offered, simply don't give money to the developers and give it to the charities. Maybe it'll send a message to the devs.

@Travis: Uh, Shadowgrounds is a top-down Third-Person Shooter. The only "platformer" stuff is slightly reminiscent of Westwood Studios' Nox, and even then, Rolling in Shadowgrounds is only to dodge enemy projectiles.

Well, so far the two biggest contributors are Notch and Garry, the latter of which ahead by a penny.

Maybe they'll be in the next Humble Indie Bundle. Don't know how that would work, though, since Minecraft requires an account at minecraft.net (maybe a Gift Code?) and Garrys Mod requires a Steam Account (again, though, a code would work).

One thing that I hate about Frozen Byte's games is that they don't work with my GMA 950, but that's to be expected in graphic-intensive games. Also: you can add these games to your Steam account quite easily, and they offer official torrents for the games. And they run on Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux. :D

Get out of my mind, idea! I already have an idea in there!
