Grumpy Tropers: Looking for absolutely horrible LPs

Oh hi, didn't see you come in, take a seat wherever there's room and make yourself comfortable.

See, if you've been around "Oh...oh my (Video Games edition)" over the past few weeks, you may have noticed me plugging Grumpy Tropers quite a bit, and frankly, I feel that I shouldn't use that thread to plug some tropers shamelessly ripping off Retsupurae making fun of horrible LPs, and so here we are.

The thing is, it's hard to sift through a bunch of horrible LPs on our own, and after a while, we might run out of stuff to riff on. Since Grumpy Tropers has always been intended as a community project (I've left it open to any known Troper who wants to riff on any horrible work, but we mostly do bad Let's Plays), this is the place you should drop any bad LP you stumble across so that not only do we not have more stuff to riff on, but you get to have a say in what we do, and we aren't loading up that other thread with our useless garbage videos.

I don't feel like reading all that nonsense: We're rounding up bad Let's Plays for riffing purposes.

Also, if you have a terrible LP you've made yourself, don't link it here. We seriously don't want to RP any of you, and deliberately making bad videos so you can be retsupuraed is not the way to go.

What is it with Kaizo hacks and people LPing them? If I wanted to see "STATE x LOADED" a hundred thousand times, I'd just open an emulator and hammer the load state button.

This is the first time I can use this in context.

He popularised the "Lets Play [X Hard Game/ Mario ROM Hack Here]" genre. But at least Jon (And Sir Ron Lion Heart) was entertaining to watch as they played Kaizo and their kin.

I'm pretty sure it is trolling, looking at how his other videos make every possible mistake you can make in an LP.

It's typical isn't it? Bad LP's have become so ubiquitous, it's impossible to separate Stealth Parody from plain horribleness.

What is even the purpose of a Stealth Parody Let's Play?

^ I mean, other than April Fool's Day jokes, it's kind of dumb and thanks to the other bad L Ps, Poe's Law is very certain to come into play. Obvious parodies are nice because they're less likely to invoke Poe's Law.

That's the thing though. You'd have to go through ridiculous lengths to make a bad Let's Play obviously intentionally bad. Like...I dunno...record a baby's crying and play that over IWBTG footage. Or place the camcorder in a drying machine.

I've seen the Retsupurae guys' stealth parodys and you'd have to know they were the Retsupurae guys to know it was one. Can you honestly find a Let's Play with such bad quality that you know, with no prior knowledge of the poster or another bad let's player, that it is totally fake? The closest one I've found was one of Super Meat Boy that was incredibly short with desynched audio, and even then I only knew because that video was posted right after the Necroscope riff was posted.

Well, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Special Edition is a nice Stealth Parody Let's Play.

So...well I know it's clearly fake, but is that the extent of the joke? The gameplay footage (what little there is) is semi-competent and the commentary, while dull and uninspired (most L Pers start off like this anyway), doesn't come off as annoying (except for the weird metally effect, but that was very bearable). It doesn't have a lot of the stereotypical bad LP elements either (trying to be loud and wacky, random distractions, camcorder/freeware recording device). Also the random old clips just inserted are...weird...but that's it.

Maybe I wasn't clear with my request...Obvious intentionally bad let's play.

Maybe something like: A person dying to the first goomba in Super Mario Bros for minutes, trying to jump above him over and over again and never succeeding. Bonus points if they resort to save states as well.

EDIT: Yeah it's the same one. Thanks though. I just thought I'd use Youtube since, you know: bad LP's. Youtube. Haha. Funny. etc.

I say it falls into a bizarre category I call the "My Immortal" category. Where people argue and argue whether or not it's an example of Stealth Parody and/or Trolling, or the guy is honest-to-god retarded.

But I still say RP it. For the sake of mankin and Sadistic Fun.

What's wrong with Pokemon L Ps?

Is any different to Let's Play a Mario ROM Hack in the vein of Kaizo/ Popular Hard Game (I Wanna Be The Guy, Super Meat Boy)?

There's a lot of them and thus are hit hard by Sturgeon's Law. Not to mention that infamously creepy one that got Pokemon L Ps banned from Something Awful.
