You can use Dark Force anytime as long as you have 1 stock, regardless of life. You activate it by pressing the punch and kick buttons of the same strength at the same time (LP and LK, MP and MK, HP and HK). What it does depends on the character and sometime which buttons you used to activate it, from giving super armor (Lei-Lei), allowing to fly (Jedah and Q-Bee), giving option-like hitters (Demitri and Felicia) to activating Custom-Combo-like mode (Lilith & Talbain) and others.

I just had a crazy idea about that create-a-Darkstalker contest.
I might not be able to draw or do art, but I just thought of something I could do. Music. If anyone were to pitch their ideas for an OC I could probably see what I could do to write a Leitmotif for them somehow in the vein of the older games.
If it's allowed under the rules set by the judges, of course.
Anyone hoping a Slenderman expy gets in?
A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.Maaaaan, I wanna give this a try. I've been brushing up on my drawing skills as of late.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I got an idea for this though I'm not good with creative stuff what so ever. If your interested Napp just PM me.
I'm wondering if Oboro and the NW casualties are still in 3.
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DOboro, probably. The exiled Night Warriors? Kinda doubt it, though they did say the code's based off of The Darkstalkers Collection, which had an arranged version which had all 18 characters.
Who knows?
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Honestly, no.
There's tons more characters to choose from for inspiration than a knockoff of Slender Man. Besides, that sounds like it'd be misconstrued as cashing in on Slender's popularity as opposed to Capcom being (relatively) original like they were back in the day.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI never had a chance to play any of the Darkstalkers games before, but I always really wanted to, so I'm excited for Resurrection. I've always liked Felicia in the crossover games. Talbain, Rikuo, and Raptor look the most interesting to me. I have no idea what the storyline of this series is though, or the stories of the characters. Is the anime OVA good, or will I be totally lost if I see it?
Still, I must say I'm disappointed that Resurrection isn't being released in time for Halloween.
All the Darkstalkers are just unique spins on creatures from folklore. Paris Hilton Succubus, Rock'n'Roll Zombie, Kung-Fu Werewolf. I think a Slenderman expy would work with the right look and moveset.
S/he'd probably have some weird contortionist moves, stuff that would put Dhalsim to shame. Stretched fingers during grabs, kicking by having the leg move without the thigh like it had no kneecap, ducking by merely having it's torso fold backwards and under its' legs...
Haven't seen the OVA, but it's definitely not Canon. It'll give you a good look at Donovan and Hsien-Ko but among other things it makes Morrigan a villain again. Some neat fights though.

The OVA is ok, if not all over the place (partially because it's an adaptation that uses the basic plot of the first game, but also includes the cast of Night Warriors, with Donovan more or less serving as the main character like in Night Warriors).
Getting into the plot is a bit harder, as it's a fair deal more comprehensive and complex than Street Fighter is (and that has bucketloads of info that isn't necessarily gathered from the games themselves).
I'm inclined to disagree. All I'm saying is that there's a lot more things out there in mythology and folklore and whatnot to draw from (many of them being, IMO, more interesting than the internet sensation that is Slender Man). Just because he's popular (to an extent) doesn't necessarily mean he (or rather, something based off of him) is a good fit. It could work, no doubt, but Slendy expies are far from my first pick.
Also, I'll have to watch the OVA again, but I'm pretty sure Morrigan was more of a neutral entity there. Perhaps you're thinking of the cartoon.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadIt's being released in February. []
Personally, I just want some kind of modern horror to have some presence.
That's peachy. Now I'm going to have to do some roundabout way of buying it using my friend's PS3 while logging on to my PSN account.
Who in particular?

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI don't particularly care. I only use Slenderman because its a recognizable example. I also think something eldritch should show up.
I actually want to see some monsters from more outlandish mythologies get represented. Kinda like Hsien-Ko. I'm pretty sure I'd never know what a Chinese Vampire would be unless she existed. I'd like to see more mosters like her.
What about a gargoyle? Or just a Big Red Devil? I know it's not the most unique kind of monster, but it's something, and I don't think there's any straight up classic style devil character, with horns and wings and a pointy tail.
Dullahans have been mentioned.
Just get Celty Sturluson on the line.
It would be cool if the speculative Darkstalkers 4 had Dante as a guest fighter, as a nod to him appearing in Jedah's ending in Capcom Fighting Jam (and I mean the original Dante of course).
There needs to be an honest to God Wicked Witch. For a Darkstalkerish twist, she would be several thousand years old and would look it, but if she can prepare the right potions and rituals in combat, she can steal the youth of the opponent (Maybe represented in a brief scene ala Midnight Bliss) and transform into a younger, sexier, and more powerful version of herself. Her moveset would probably be more projectile focused than most in Darkstalkers, but in her youth form she'd turn into a more rushdown-oriented character.
Essentially, you take a cliche witch plot turn it into a gameplay mechanic.
And if there has already been a witch in Darkstalkers, then this entire post is hilariously pointless. I really only know the playable characters.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.That has been mentioned before (perhaps on the other thread, probably by me). Aside of that, I've been frequently saying that they should just incorporate the Red Earth cast as well as the originals from MvC2 (i.e. Ruby Heart, Amingo, and Sonson) into the next game. No need to throw away good potential, especially when they look like they'd fit in well overall.
Nope, no witches yet.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadOkay, so I've seen about half of the OVA so far, and it's giving me a general idea of what the story is like.
I have to wonder about the supposed power level of some of these characters though. I realize that, officially, a normal darkstalker can take out a small human army, but I can't say I really believe that. For instance, I realize that werewolves are really strong and fast, but I don't think a small army of well armed humans couldn't take one out, with the right weapons. The impression I get is that these monsters, in addition to the usual claws and fangs and supernatural powers, also have Dragonball Z types of fighting techniques. or are they all just extremely resistant to normal damage?
I think its more that they aren't *monsters* in the Western sense, so much as varying demons, spirits, and gods in the Eastern sense. So they have varyingly powerful all around physical/magical abilities set to their theme.

I'd assume a digital release like what MvC2 received. CvS2 isn't exceedingly rare, but still hard to come by these days.
