Gravity Falls sounds generic as Gently Caress

Ultimate Spider-Man sounds feh

Motorcity sounds not only generic but sounds very anti-environmentalist

Tron: Uprising sounds feh, but if they want to make tv series based on there films why use Louis the aligator?

Doc McStuffins sounds feh

Oki’s Oasis sounds feh, but Wild Brain could suprise me

Sofia the First sounds feh and will be crucified by feminists

7D sounds feh, but the people working on it gives me hope for it

Minnie Bow-Toons sounds feh

I posted about Tron Uprising a couple of weeks back [1] and based on the trailer it actually looks very promising. Sort of like the Disney version of the Animatrix.

Louis the Alligator is going to be in Tron: Uprising?

That would be the craziest thing ever. But hey, who wouldn't want to watch Louie the Alligator and Quor'ra fighting evil CPU's every week?

...How can any non-troll possibly say a comic book superhero show from Paul Dini is "feh"? THE MAN HAS THE MIDAS TOUCH OF QUALITY.

The pitch for Ultimate Spider-Man interests me. I may not have liked that they cancelled The Spectacular Spider Man, but at least this looks like they're doing something different than they've done with previous Spider-Man cartoons, plus it seems to be making good use of the alternative universe that it's based on.

Plus, the ideas of what might come out of the show has me happy. I'm getting a vibe a la Avengers: The Initiative and Young Justice out of the idea (one being a comic series I really enjoyed before it ended and the other being a TV series I'm currently enjoying) of having Spider-Man working with other Teen heroes, and since I'm really liking what the Ultimate Spider-Man comics are doing right now with Iceman and Human Torch living in his house, I have a good feeling about the show. Depending on the status of the X-Men in the shows universe, it wouldn't be out of the question for Ultimate Shadowcat to show up to. Or that might not even matter, considering she went to Pete's school for a while while they were still around and there was that time where the two dated.

Plus, Brian Michael Bendis is involved, and regardless of his current 616 comics, I think he does a great job on the Ultimate side of Marvel.

^^^ This is a new thing for me... I can't decide whether I'd prefer Greg Weisman's Spiderman over Paul Dini's Spiderman...

[up][up][up][up] Feh, Paul Dini is overrated. He's a great writer, but he has had his share of misteps just like any other writer (he was the head writer of "Countdown to Final Crisis", for Pete's sake!) Heck, his work on Static Shock and The Zeta Project you referenced wasn't that good.

Plus, Brian Michael Bendis is involved, and regardless of his current 616 comics, I think he does a great job on the Ultimate side of Marvel.

Respectively disagree; IMO, he helped run it into the ground, though he was far from alone in that regard.

[up] What? The only thing he's been writing is USM and USM-related minis (like Ultimate Six) which y'know, he's been writing from the very beginning. I honestly don't see how you can claim he's been writing any Ultimate Book into the ground since y'know, the only one he writes is still doing OK.

[up][up] You know Dini wrote the only few good moments in Countdown, like the Harley subplot, *and* the series was mostly that way mostly because of Executive Meddling, right?

ManwiththePlan Since: Dec, 2009

[up] He was the head writer of Countdown. Executive Meddling or not, he does have some share of the blame. Saying that "he wrote the only good parts" seems like a lame Creator Worship-based statement, IMO. Again, Paul Dini is one of the best comic writers there is, but he is not perfect. His involvement on something won't always guarantee it's success.

[up][up] IMHO, USM hasn't "done OK" since the Carnage arc, but again, to be fair, Bendis isn't alone to blame for (from my perception) the decline in USM and the Ultimate Marvel line in general, there were alot more factors and people at blame (Joe Queasada, Jeff Loeb, etc.)

Yeah, Bendis practically created the Ultimate Universe. And while I may not have liked what was done with Ultimatum, I will say that I think that Bendis did a great job of taking Loeb's lemon and making lemonade out of it with where he's taken the comic since then.

Then there's the Ultimate Enemy miniseries trilogy that just finished, which I think is more or less Ultimatum done right. I can only imagine what it would have been like had it not followed the later.

Well, to be fair it's not like he said "he only wrote the good parts."

If there are parts and storylines in Countdown people consider good, and Paul Dini was the one who wrote them, it's less worship and more just stating stuff - since you can't deny he did write them. I had heard the Harley stuff was dynamite, and I don't doubt he headed all of that.

I stayed clear away from Countdown in general, though. I'm not so sure how good a writer Dini is at comics: I have a small collection of his stuff on Batman: Detective, and most of it I don't care for ("Slayride" is awesome, however. In general he's very good at writing Joker and Harley, separate or together). He is, however, dynamite at writing animation (that's part of the problem, I think, his stuff on "Detective" played like episodes of an animated show, and it felt... off... a lot of the time).

And Gravity Falls will take over it's role as the token Disney Channel animated series that isn't Phineas And Ferb.

Not sure what to make of Ultimate spider man. I mean, I am not a fan of ben 10 and Generator Rex, but I love everything Paul Dini made, so I am not sure what the result could be. Also, with all the Spectacular Spider Man claiming Replacement Scrappy at it I am not sure if I can expect it to last enough to be worth to commit to.

Nick Fury is good. I keep telling my patients: You need more Nick Fury.

Though I think I would have rather liked they let the Spidey license available for the Avengers for once.

Why would you fire someone and then immediately rehire them for a different show?

I have to say, I like how Time Warner and Disney are using there comic wings to fight wars in there tv wings.

Green Lantern & Young Justice vs. The Avengers & Ultimate Spiderman ? Who wins?

Hmm. Something's off here.
