[up][up]Well, definite renaming has as much support as redefining, so the ambiguity isn't terribly important. Although maybe something like the following might be a good idea for future crowners:

  • Option A: Rename
    • NOTE: Conflicts with option D
  • Option B: Redefine to make gender neutral
    • NOTE: Conflicts with option D
  • Option C: Repurpose "Cute Shotaro Boy"
    • NOTE: Conflicts with option D
  • Option D: Just clean up misuse
    • NOTE: Conflicts with options A, B, C and D.

Either way, the crowner has been up for over a week with two clear leaders that are not mutually exclusive. This seems safe to call in favor of both renaming and gender neutrality description tweaking.

[up] Seconding.

That said, I thought having them as different options implied they were different courses of action. I wasn't aware you could do two options.

The down voting Trope Transplant (with rename to both) option really is going to make this tough to sort and be really messy.

I would of thought that a really cute little boy maybe with Cuteness Proximity and yada (they way 99% of the wicks are about.) would be needed as an actual trope (with Keet as the really hyperactive and gabby ones as subtrope)

I think that the biggest problem with the third option is that it wants to move the mess that the current page is to another trope.

Maybe a new option with better wording like "Trope Transplant current usage "really really cute little boy ( who is most likely calm and polite)" to new trope. Name to be decided in another crowner."

Nvm it's been locked.

I think a new crowner to just descide on definitions and if they should be split or not would be good. Currently the trope you're talking about isn't even part of this trope though. It's just the way misuse tended. That makes it free to YKTTW, but not part of this trope.

So we have to make yet another page action crowner or just move on to an alternative titles crowner? The alternative titles crowner is already closed due to it being made before the previous crowner.

Should we make a new page for the misuse or for the original definition?

So, the crowner says to rename. What name to use? I'd rather not have something with "Shotaro" in it. It's not like the kid from Gigantor was the only famous Shotaro.

Which trope are you talking about? The misused Really Cute Little Boy or what's on the page Cute, Responsible kid that is doing the job of an adult and trying to act the part, (with occasional emotional armor cracking showing their true age)?

The former, Shotaro is a pre-existing term meaning the (and usually calm) little cute chick magnet types (in many ways such as Cuteness Proximity.) Shotacon stems from it. The gender flip of Lolita basically. (like Elegant Gothic Lolita and such.)

The latter is just a big reason for the former in that example.

[up][up]That sounds like it's talking about small adults.

Adorably Mature Little Boy?

Well it's going to be gender neutral so we should ditch the gender specific parts in the name of the trope on the page.

Little Kid In An Adult Situation? nah that sounds kinda sexual... Sorry. Child Adult? as this is pretty much opposite of Adult Child with situational issues. Child With An Adults Job? That is really the most common form of this.

I am fine with leaving Cute Shotaro Boy name for the tropes current misuse, as a trope transplant.

Well, in real life when a young child has to be the adult in the family with parents still around its called being a "Parentified Child", but I think that's a whole different trope altogether.

Cloyingly Cute Boy? Or is that too close to Cloyingly Cute Child? That would probably be confusing.

What about Token Shota, if it works for Token Loli?

Wait, Token Shota is already a trope? If so, then why do we even have Cute Shotaro Boy? That implies that there are shotaro boys that aren't meant to be found cute. @_@

Bump. It looks like we're ready for an alt-name crowner, or are people still arguing about the definition?
