He sucks.
Next.
"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"I find him to be a mixed bag. Sometimes he's quite good, but other times he's....not. I both like him and dislike him at the same time,.
His whole gimmick is that he reviews movies that are popular that he dislikes. It explains why he's so polarizing.
I like his style of reviewing (going scene by scene and analyzing the work), even if I don't agree with him a lot of the time. He really needs to stay away from reviewing anime, though.
Oh yeah. Lion King and Incredibles were forgivable, seeing as they were simply his personal opinion, even if poorly explained.
Spirited Away was just Bias Steamroller all the way.
Pretty much "I don't know jack shit about anime, but I hate it anyways, so Spirited Away sucks because blah blah stuff about anime he doesn't like blah blah".
He is really hit and miss for me. Sometimes his criticism seems to be entirely based on nitpicking and bitching, sometimes it's really well thought out and analyzed (like the Matrix sequels or Moulin Rouge)
Agreed. I like him when he agrees with me and hate him when he doesn't.

All I know is that I really want to punch that logo.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"I get the feeling that I should stay away from this, seeing as I really liked Spirited Away.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelHe's not funny.
Fanfiction I hate. His review of Spirited Away was chock full of Critical Research Failure and Bias Steamrolling. Anime is a genre? what.

His review of Lion King II is actually decent.
This is ...wow. maybe 2012 might actually be the end of the world after all.

Why?
Personally, I'm not a fan of CM.
His TLK 2 review was just as bad the first one
Because it gives off this incredibly punchable "Oh poor little me!" vibe that makes me want to punch it.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"I'm happy to see all this hate directed towards him. I really am.
Matthew's expression seems more astonished than "woe is me". Stan, on the the other hand, looks pitiful.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't hate him; I'm just not interested in his videos.
It's that little o-mouth and cuteness, like he's painting himself as The Woobie because people like movies that he doesn't.
"If you're out here why do I miss you so much?"Pretty much exposing the fact that Matty-boy's series is built on Opinion Myopia like no one else's business.
I was indifferent on Matthew's take on Anime until people started slamming him on it on his page at which point I feel I have to side with Matthew.
But then, I was indifferent to slightly pleasantly disposed to Anime until TV Tropes overexposed it. Based on the sheer amount of anime references and the frequency of culturally neutral tropes being given names accessible only to anime fans on an english speaking board, you'd think anime was a lot bigger in the english speaking world than it actually is.
of course you would think Anime is a lot bigger on this site than it really is in the english speaking world, but you could say that for quite a bit of the more niche nerd interests on this wiki, that's really just the nature of the site (See Also: Everything on the internet in comparison to popularity in real life)
Matthew getting slammed over that review has more to do with his body of work and that just being the Most Triumphant Example to an anime fan
As far as the overall topic goes, personally i could care less about what Matthew reviews as much as i find him to be the worst kind of Caustic Critic, uninteresting, not funny, and who's notoriety seems to be based entirely on how many fanbases he's ticked off. When i dislike a movie and still cringe through your review that's probably not a good sign

Thought he needed a topic. If one exists, then close this, and give me a link.
Anyway, I'd say how I feel, but let's listen to what you have to say
