yeah the 17th century was after the great kung lao

however you could just say that the soul caliber warriors are Raiden's chosen for the next mortal kombat tournement that took place during earthrealms 500 year losing streak

all it means is that the game has to have a bad end were Goro wins to avoid paradoxs

Anyone hoping for DLC outfits (besides Klassic skins)? I'm kinda miffed that a) Kabal didn't get his greasy sweet outfit from his ending, b) Kabal didn't get his original, pre-disfigurement cop look, and c) Quan Chi doesn't have his armor from 4 (which he should have had anyway in this game).

And Tremor. And Khameleon. Some more "ninjas" would be nice, seeing as the quotient will be surprisingly lower next game.

Khameleon needs to successfully persuade Reptile to be a good guy. Which he just might do since Shang Tsung and Shao Khan are dead.

Kostume ideas, that would be fun if thin on the ground as so far all I have is:

Liu Kang: His MK 4 vest and/or a Kenshiro-type outfit.

Kung Lao: DA outfit

Sub-Zero: Shredder-Zero from Deception

Raiden: Something like MK movie 1 Raiden, that was pretty cool.

Shang Tsung: Bitchin' trenchcoat Tsung from the first movie.

Kano: DA outfit.

Sonya: MK 3 or DA outfit(s)

Reptile: MK Shaolin Monks outfit

Jade: Something relatiely sexy, with or without veil, it doesn't mattter, she's still sexy anyway. Otherwise, Deception outfits.

And considering most of the ninjas already have them klassic kostume ideas, yeah I'm a little drained.

Thinking of masks here, but all of the characters who normally wear them have been seen without them now...

Except Bi-Han.

I dunno about Subby getting his Cyromancer armor just yet. Maybe a maskless alt. like he had in 3 and 4?
