I had the buds of the ideas for Alicia about a week after I finished up with Rei's profile. It's not my fault that everyone else also wants to be foreigners! D:

My own character spawned from a little Gem Play snippet I wrote some time back. Yes, her bf does that with her. No, there's no fancy magic, just her naughty, naughty imagination and a little concentration on his part.

Age: 16

Gender: Female.

Appearance: Michiko stands at around 5'8'', with fair skin, brilliant green eyes and auburn hair that falls to her shoulders. She has some very slight curves around the hips and chest, giving her a full figure (at least in comparison with most girls her age). Her lips are usually turned up in a smile.

Michiko usually dresses in a white blouse over a black shirt, a blue pleated skirt that stops just short of her knees, white stockings, and brown boots when not in school or being a Puella Magi.

Colour Code: Pearl White.

Personality: Michiko is a nurturer at heart, preferring to smooth over differences by talk, politeness and diplomacy. She tends to obsessively "mother" the friends she has, making sure they know who they can confide in and who can help them. That said, ever since she became a Puella Magi, she's had to accept the fact that some problems just need violence to solve, especially when it comes to Demons. However, she has no idea about the darker parts of her job as a Puella Magi, and as such, is susceptible to putting Honor Before Reason.

Background: Michiko had the luck to be born to a loving and caring family, who loved her unconditionally. From an early age, Michiko wanted to follow in the footsteps of her mother and father, who were both active in community service. She believed that her life's meaning was in helping others with their problems and easing others' pain.

Michiko's idyllic life changed when the Natsuki family moved to a new town and a new school. That was when she indirectly got her first taste of bullying: she saw a group of girls ragging on a rather small, terrified girl. When the pack of Alpha Bitches left, Michiko approached the terrified girl. It turned out she had been the target of these girls since a few weeks ago because she dared to speak out against the clique's leader. What it was she called the lead Alpha Bitch out for, she wouldn't say. Either way, since the girl seemed rather depressed, Michiko decided to make friends with her.

One day, however, the girl ran into the Alpha Bitch again. Michiko attempted to calm the other girl, but she would have none of it. This time, Michiko's friend wasn't so lucky, as something she said made the whole wolfpack of girls beat on her. Michiko could only watch as her friend was badly hurt by the girls. Luckily, a teacher noticed them and separated the "wolfpack" from the girl, but the damage had already been done. Michiko's friend quietly left, and the Alpha Bitch and her cronies continued calling the shots.

Feeling guilty, Michiko tried even harder to mitigate the damage done by the Alpha Bitch back at school. However, the more she tried to help whoever was on the girl's shit list, the more the Alpha Bitch seemed to antagonize the objects of her hate. Eventually, in desperation, Michiko tried to talk down the Alpha Bitch. Big mistake: she ended up being the girl's target. The crowning moment of humiliation was when the girl ended up spreading some malicious rumors about her, shooting her social status all the way to hell. She tried to call her old friend for help.... and found out that she had killed herself several months ago.

And that was when Kyubey offered her a wish.

Wish: "I wish I could stop people from hurting other people."

Wish-derived special ability: She can "stop people from hurting other people" with her magic in a ten-meter radius around her. By this, it means she can neutralize the effects of exactly one attack directed toward her or one of her comrades, so long as they are near her (meaning if a Witch/Demon hurls a Macross Missile Massacre or any form of multi-hit attack at her, she can only neutralize one attack: since Michiko is rather new at this whole Puella Magi thing, she can't exploit her powers' full potential). By exerting her magic, she can either redirect the effects of the attack on the attacker or heal others by "deflecting" injuries already present onto herself. Basically, Michiko is the ultimate defender.

Weapon: She wields two long swords with gold and blue ornamentation, with a buckler strapped to her left forearm. The buckler bears the insignia of a pair of wings.

Michiko can combine the two swords she wields into a BFS or a Darth Maul-esque blade-staff. She can summon more just in case one or more blades get knocked away, or launch them at opponents to pin them down or at a wall to make stepping stones. She also has the ability to summon a cluster of shields shaped like the Roman tortoise formation to cover everyone around her.

Magical Girl Costume: A uniform that is a cross between a military outfit and priestly garb, with knee-high shorts and white, steel-toed boots. A shield-in-sunburst badge is pinned to her left breast, but few see this since she wears a poncho that goes down all the way to her waist. She also wears a fancy beret with a pair of wings pinned to the front. Her Soul Gem takes the form of a pearl ring on her left hand.

Other: Her fighting style focuses on defense and riposte: let the opponent make the first move, block/negate, then deliver a punishing counterattack. She'll apologize after beating you to a bloody pulp, though.

Hopefully my attack negation isn't too broken. I plan on her being the party tank.

• Appearance: Tied up blue haired pony tail. It's about standard pony tail length, going down to the shoulders. Her hair that isn't tied up (at the sides) go down a bit past her shoulders, but aren't too long. I was about to use long hair haruhi as an example but Kyonko◊ fits perfectly. Average height, around 160cm tall, and slim build.
• Personality: She's kind, helping out other girls whenever she can. Though not quite an older sister figure, she does the best she can as a magical girl. Though this is all a facade. She enjoys watching the girls falling into despair and manipulates them to this end.
• Wish: A second life. When she dies, she wants to be reborn with retained memories.

Gender: Female

Appearance: At 5'9", Asuka has a slight height advantage over some of her peers. Her hair is a light, almost faded pink, the long straight locks falling down past her shoulders and stopping at her waist. Round deep blue eyes stare out from beneath her bangs, usually expressionless save for a few isolated instances. Her overall build is neither petite nor toned — rather, it lies somewhere between the two and can be considered healthy. She finished filling out over the past year, finally coming fully into her own looks-wise. Curves? Why yes, /very/ much so! (Reference Pic◊)

Personality: Asuka is a pretty "normal" eighteen year old girl. While she's not the type to go up and chat a complete stranger's head off, she's also at the same time not completely antisocial. Rather, she goes with the flow of things to an extent. Keeping things relatively simple is her style — save for the magical girl part, of course. This is why she's more at home behind the turntables or at the beach than anywhere else. Her uncomplicated approach proves to be surprisingly useful in certain tense situations where an uninfluenced "Thinker" is needed.

Background: Born into a very driven and business-minded family, Asuka was bred to strive for excellence from the beginning. Thanks to these expectations she quickly became a very studious and talented young girl. By the time she entered junior high school she'd amassed a good deal of friends, most of them envious of her ability to be so darn good at everything she tried. However, she began to feel quite empty and alone, unsure if her so-called "friends" were truly that. This only grew upon reaching high school, so much that she even began to greatly dislike most of them. Thankfully an unexpected release came in the form of a British exchange student she found herself inexplicably drawn to. The two became fast friends, and Asuka was thus introduced to the happening club nightlife she'd ignored up until then. It was like an entirely new world to her — one that she desperately wanted to be part of.

And so underneath her parent's very noses she started to moonlight as a DJ, learning the tricks of the trade from other more experienced jockeys. Before she knew it she was quickly approaching the major leagues — and that's when her parent's finally found out about her nocturnal activities. They exploded on her. But instead of sitting back and agreeing with everything they said, Asuka finally had enough and let loose everything she'd been feeling. Needless to say that landed her on the streets with only a backpack containing her most precious belongings. Her connections in the clubscene however paid off, and for the next month or so she stayed with true friends.

It was the eve of her seventeenth birthday when Kyuubey presented himself to her. He spoke of Demons — horrible creatures that were of pure darkness. He also spoke of Magical Girls — forces of good that did battle with the Demons. Finally, he put forward a request for Asuka to make a contract with him and become one of the aforementioned Magical Girls. In exchange, she would be granted one wish alone. Of course, it was a lot to take in, and she ended up taking some time to ponder what was being asked of her. Kyuubey reappeared at the end of the allotted time period, inquiring about her decision. With a smile and a confident nod, she agreed on his offer and made her wish.

She's been a Magical Girl ever since.

Wish: "I wish to spread harmony and stamp out discontent."

Wish-derived special ability: Once per battle Asuka can pull out a sort of last ditch desperation move to bring everything under control should things take a turn for the chaotic. She "resonates" her entire body at a frequency that works in two ways. First, it strengthens the connection between fellow magical girls, making it easier to "sync up" and perform joint attacks on enemies. It also temporarily erases all doubt an MG may be facing, inspiring them to keep fighting the good fight until achieving success. Second, it has an intoxicating effects on enemies. They're hit with warm, tingly feelings that they logically cannot process. It places them in a sort of "error loop" that effectively paralyzes and stops them from carrying out any attacks for a predetermined amount of time.

Downside? It takes a huge chunk of energy out of her soul gem each time she uses this move. Enough to sideline her from the battle should it still be going even after her attempts to end it. Hence, moderation is key here.

Weapon: Records. Yes, the kind you normally put on turntables and listen to. Except Asuka can summon up a dozen or more at a time and fling them at foes. Depending on her intentions she can for example either use them to slice through targets or charge them with magic so that they explode on impact and emit devastating sound waves. She can naturally also alter their size for added damage, usually opting to send them rolling forward like giant, sentient wheels. Other uses include utilizing them as shields to deflect attacks or as "stepping stones" to reach high up places. Wicked.

Magical Girl Costume: Pretty much this, except with a pair of black woolen fingerless gloves on each hand. Her soul gem hangs from the collar around her neck. Another view. Sweet headphones!

Other: She's all about looking unassuming on the battle field. Then when her opponent(s) feel comfortable, she hits with near deadly accuracy — hard and fast. She much prefers to end battles in a well-thought strike, knowing that a long drawn out confrontation can lead to trouble.

Hmmm, so. I keep seeing this, and I, um, always kind of feel like entering. Problem is, not only do I not know if there's any open spaces on this, but I'm always afraid that my more, uh, traditionalist views on the genre would make me end up trying to warp the character creation process to make a more, um, Lighter and Softer, if you will, character who really wouldn't fit in (that and I'm in a few other things already, but).

...However, I saw that you guys, um, started a new RP thread for this, which made me wonder if there were actually a few open slots at the moment. Probably wishful thinking on my behalf, but... Just checking, I guess. And on the off-chance there is, checking to see if a character that might potentially clash with the tone and setting would be, um, okay, ahah. >.>

Well, I suppose it does, learned that the hard way in MMFRPG, but who knows, if a new city opens up, which is probably what will happen for all of us new comers, it'll kind of be starting afresh, and you will probably be the one with the most knowledge, and the person with the easiest time keeping up with things since you were here before.

Actually, said new city has already opened.
