Are we just ignoring the almost unanimous positive reception that Mania got when it was revealed?
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeThe 3D games don't get nearly that level of hype, though, and Sega can't just keep making 2D games forever.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Of course they can
Besides, Sonic Forces has had a lot of hype too, even if it has Classic style as well as Modern.
It's hard to compare them anyways, since the last modern game we had was four years ago and wasn't advertised all that well nor was it great.
Not to mention the fact that SEGA owns Atlus, and those games are definitely bringing in money.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI mean, they can but it's not exactly something I want.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. But Classic's appearance bucked a lot of that hype, though.
what video i never posted a video

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."You kinda get diminishing returns on something like that anyways.
Just look at Megaman, eventually none of the games were really selling irrespective of their actual quality.
I'd argue that has more to do with Capcom not sufficiently advertising/putting effort into the series than anything else.

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeSonic hasn't had a "brand gameplay" or whatever the heck they called it since Sonic Adventure.
This isn't new to this or the tail end of the last decade.
I posted that video two pages ago lol; that's how this discussion started.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The only reason Zelda and Pokemon have a "formula" (again, hate that word), is because both series have so many elements to them that it's difficult to fit in new things.
Sonic only has speed and jumping that it needs to fulfill, and it does so in different ways.
Heck, Mario's only core element is jumping, and it has done things like move to a more exploration-based playstyle, go back to a linear playstyle, and go back to exploration again.
Sonic is a lot more versatile than people give it credit for. More so than more complex RPG series like Zelda or Pokemon that have to fulfill a lot of elements.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. That doesn't mean much if the developers don't explore any of it.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Explore Sonic's versatility or explore the potential versatility (even though there is little) in the other franchises I mentioned?
Because Sonic Team explores Sonic's versatility a lot. I'm actually starting to think that they resent having to work solely on Sonic nowadays and their attempts to try new things is their method of alleviating that.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I still maintain that Chronicles could have been something special had Bioware cared at all.

This song needs more love. The answer is Unknown from M.E.
Probably Escape from the City. It's just so dang catchy.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It's not that Bioware didn't care, it's that the game was pushed out the door before it was done. Look at the music. Those were clearly placeholder tracks, as they are low quality midi files of songs taken from other Sonic games. I'm sure if they had been able to finish making the game it would have turned out a lot better.
The problem with Sonic games is that SEGA doesn't give a shit about actually releasing finished products. They just set a release date and release the game by then, everything else be damned. I mean, think about it. A lot of the really bad Sonic games have the same problem of being rushed and even a lot of the better ones were still rushed. The fact that Mania was delayed so it could be finished is actually a minor miracle.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!..can we name a few of these?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Pretty much every game starting with Heroes?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.So how long did Heroes, Shadow, Riders, Advance, Rush, Colors, Unleashed, and the Storybook games get before being rushed out?
Because the only games I've heard of being rushed were 2006 and Rise of Lyric.
That also leaves the implication that some of those games sans 2006 and Rise of Lyric were objectively bad. So, which ones? Which ones suffered for lack of development time?
Choose wisely. :p

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!But I liked Heroes...
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundEven worshipped games like Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles were rushed too.
Where there's life, there's hope.Way I remember it was that Sonic 3 and Knuckles was going to be one game, but they ran out of time and split it in two so they could release half of it sooner and half of it later. I'm not sure if that counts as being rushed or not.

Those "Eggman's devious traps" are certainly rushed.
Where there's life, there's hope. The game was released in its incomplete form. Ergo, it was rushed.
Also, keep in mind that a rushed game doesn't necessarily mean a bad game. For example, my current favorite Zelda game is The Wind Waker yet it was rushed to meet its deadline, as evidenced by the two cut dungeons and possibly the Triforce Quest.

Comparing Sonic and Mega Man doesn't work. At least people liked Mega Man when it died.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."
