Rotten Tomatoes is ruining everything, first they ruined Batman v Superman and now they ruining Dream Work's latest film!
/sarcasm
I've not seen their latest film either, but I think part of problem is that they are longer really competing with Disney,so there's no longer really that drive that towards groundbreaking films, they just have this the goal of making films which are safe and likely make a tidy profit.
New theme music also a boxConsidering a film as painful as Penguins of Madagascar can somehow get a 72%, I'm a little surprised.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.I think Dreamworks is in deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep trouble. If the Third HTTYD movie is a flop, they are probably done for good.

Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Oh right, I forgot Captain Underpants...Okay if that AND HTTYD fail, Dreamworks is done for...
...lol. I did like what I saw from Captain Underpants lo.

Well they did lose one of the guys who founded the studio, and that's never a good sign

New theme music also a boxFinancially kyun, financially.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Speaking of the Captain Underpants film: they fucking spoiled too much of it in the trailers.
Professor Poopypants from Book 4 seems to have made an invention similar to the Turbo Toilet 2000 from Book 2, and Captain Underpants gets superpowers because he's clearly shown to be flying in one shot with some green glowing indicating it's super powers or some shit.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?RT is now at 28%. If this fails to rise above 35% (RT's rating for "will smith fish") before the weekend, TBB will officially become DWA's worst-reviewed film on the site.
This pic◊ that's been making the rounds around the internet recently comes off as a rather apt reaction to what's going on at DWA now.
has a clue, but it's usually not the correct one 0.55% of the timeIt's at 50 on Metacritic (Shark Tale is at 48).
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Meanwhile, back at DreamWorks Animation:
DWA Executive 2: Yeah?
DWA Executive 1: Something tells me we're gonna be doing that a lot more often...
Actually, does anyone else think it's slightly possible that DWA purposefully made The Boss Baby bad to stick it to 20th Century Fox?
"Well it's not like we closed our biggest, most notable PDI Glendale campus-oh wait...."
Anyone have the faintest idea what The Wizards of Once is all about?
Egad. This book doesn't even have its own Wikipedia page!
It's not out yet.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. How are they making a film about a book that's not even out yet?I guess they are banking on it being a successful enough to warrant a film adaption
New theme music also a boxNo no. The book, the book. Not the movie.
That's what the user means. The book doesn't come out until September.
I have seen this before; twice as a matter a fact.
Columbia Pictures picked up the film rights to the young adult novel The 5th Wave in March 2012. The book wasn't released until May 8, 2013. The film was released in January of last year (dumping ground month) and bad reviews aside, it was only a modest hit, making $109 million worldwide on a $38 million budget.
Sony announced an animated film version of the Children's Fantasy book The Familiars the same month the book came out, September of 2010. While it did spawn three sequels, the film adaptation has been in development hell with one of the book's authors revealing last year that it had moved to another studio.

This isn't the first time Dreamworks has done this. Rise of the Guardians was in development before the books came out...and the movie turned out to be a weird sort of distant sequel/companion piece to the books.
Blue Sky's Epic was maybe in the same category.
William Joyce, the author of both, really likes multimedia series, it seems. He was actually a co-director on Rise of the Guardians for a while before he bowed out due to family problems, but the distant sequel thing was his idea.
Not Three Laws compliant.Boss Baby's RT score got a boost up to 42%. Small redemption achieved! (And Will Smith Fish regains stature as DWA's biggest critical L.)

has a clue, but it's usually not the correct one 0.55% of the timeI was going to completely ignore this movie (I found the baby character totally unsympathetic) but I have heard now that a) it has spy elements (saving the world? from a greedy dog toy company) b) the kids eventually come to care for each other and c) the whole thing might be no more than a child's fantasy about the jealousy over his new brother. That all makes it... slightly more interesting. (Also, I thought Storks was going to suck last year, and it turned out to be pretty good!) So, anyone can confirm? (note, I don't worry about spoilers.)
1.) This is something you can already see in the trailers.
Not enough so you can tell why it matters (or even if it really happened, apparently.)
To be quite honest, I wasn't expecting the movie to get more than a 60% on the tomato meter myself.
But on the other hand, I haven't seen the movie myself so I can know for sure what I think of it. I admit that some of the gags in the trailers made me chuckle ("Aww...we got you matching outfits!" "WHAT?!"), but for all I know those could be the best parts of the film and everything else is as mediocre as the Rotten Tomatoes crew is saying.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."
