If the charges stick, he should just kill himself, since that's what the Moral Guardians want anyway. :P
N Ot because I think he did anything wrong, but because charges like that basically mean you're a pariah forever due to Megan's Law.

online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comIts lovely to know that someone's life can be ruined because of a joke on youtube.
A joke that hurt no one may I add.
That's absolutely terrible. Not the edited video, the fact he's being charged with producing child porn! The hell is wrong with people? And the newscasters don't help either. "Identifiable faces of the children involved could be seen in the video" is language used with actual child pornography, not.... this!
I'm not sure what to think of the charges, but did he really have to make that joke video? That kind of mindset is probably what put people on edge.

Yeah one thing I've been seeing a lot lately is that people with no sense of humour fucking love destroying people's lives because of shit they put on the internet.
That's why I'm so paranoid about obscuring my real life identity. I already had one nasty brush with that sort of thing and I'm not keen to relive the experience.
Remember people: HUMANS. ARE. BASTARDS!
I never saw the video, so I don't actually know how bad it was, but just going by the reports it sounds like it was a harmless joke, in which case this is fucking diabolical.
Oh well. Another human life ruined, I guess.

What the fuck? Who gives a shit. Way to over step your authority folks.
Who watches the watchmen? It was tasteless, but in no way child porn.
I mean hell, if altering a song to be dirty and editing it over the original material targeted at children counts as child porn, we might as well arrest Lemondemon.
Oh, where's that reaction image of Helen Lovejoy when you need it?

i. hear. a. sound.I'm guessing that the people reacting to the video this way aren't familiar enough with Internet culture to be aware of said Lemon Demon video. @ Pykrete
What's especially cringeworthy about this case is that Emory ALREADY had a disclaimer in the video, saying that children weren't around when he sang the dirty version. Apparently this wasn't enough for some people.
Give a mouse a cookie and he'll ask for a glass of milk.

Please tell me theres some movement to get him free.
Land of the free my ass.
Wait...pornography is something you're supposed to fap with right?...did one of the Moral Guardians watch his video and felt the urge to fap hence decided to label as child pornography?
And I can't believe it...the newsteam is actually taking this so seriously...and not bursting out in laughter...they actually sound like they think it's actual child porn...

I can't believe the woman is acting apologetic about this, rather than dumbfounded at the charges...

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I give up on my state, my country, and my species.
This is beyond idiotic.
And reading comments on the internet, people are saying he should be PUT TO DEATH.
I just...
Words fail me.
How in the name of fuck is making a joke video about singing a sexual song to children Child Porn? Especially when they children weren't there and were edited in?
Holy fuck....what went through their minds when they decided to arrest him?
Shit, if that's child porn, then my book series contains child porn. Which it doesn't. Because both are FICTION.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithWait, what part of the country was Emory in? That might explain some things if he lived in extremely fundamentalist parts of the state...he's definately not the first person to get charged for something this ridiculous in the States.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."My state. Michigan.
Michigan is kind of in the middle.
And they are calling it porn because he used the footage of the children without their permission (I will concede that) and that this was 'sex related' or something.
edited 18th Feb '11 2:47:58 PM by Thorn14
So if children are in it, and there is some element of "sex" involved, it's child porn...
Does that mean child pageants◊ are just legalized forms of child pornography?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."You only just realised this?
On-topic, shouldn't the US have capsized by now under the weight of all this concentrated stupid?

What's precedent ever done for us?We have the power of CAPITALISM
Or maybe it's because people are just stupid. There will always be idiots.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithApparently' he's being charged with "making child sexually abusive material" which can have multiple meanings (apparently) but generally means "making child porn"
Someone should not have their life ruined because of a minor mistake and the tremendous stupidity of others.

Basically, Evan Emory sang a clean song to children, then when alone, sang a dirty song, and as a joke on youtube, edited the two songs to make it seem like he was singing about sex to children.
He is now charged with making child sexually abusive material. He is facing the possibility of 20 years in prison.
Only in America. I give up.
