Since discussions of it are cropping up out of Tabletop Games, here's an all-purpose thread for players and GM's.
Depends on the party, doesn't it? Would they have a way to reach her? Are the martial types good with bows?
So I joined a 5e D&D group as a Bard. We leveled up for the first time tonight, and I immediately multiclassed to Warlock. It was awesome— the DM even roleplayed my patron visiting me in a dream and offering me a Pact. Anyway, I took it’s a Great Old One Patron, so I get low-range telepathy as a class feature. I immediately used it to start messing with the rest of the party, since none of them know in-character that I’m a Warlock now. I freaked one of my party because she kept hearing voices in her head.
Anyway, after they realized I was the voice, they asked me how I was doing it, and I convinced them that telepathy is just something all Bards can do. I think that that will be my go-to excuse for all my Warlocky powers from here on out.

Banking on all the P Cs being terminally stupid, eh?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatHonestly, I think most of the players are more than willing to play along with it.
I figure they would. But then, one of them might think their character would grow suspicious soon.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThinking of trying to start up a... I dunno, a thing, maybe a one-shot, maybe more, using the 5th beta rules (being too cheap to buy the official stuff, and too spoiled to use only the Basic Rules). Thing is, I dunno how much time I'll have to actually put anything together for it, seeing as I'm in college and taking 5 classes. :/
Thoughts? How good or bad an idea is this? I tried to join a 3.5 game the year before last, but it never became a thing. Also, does anybody have an idea what the chances are of actually getting a whole classroom to use at a college?
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyEh, the beta rules are good enough. For now. You'll probably want to convert to official rules eventually, though.
As for the classroom, I don't know what rules your college goes by, but with mine, it was "if the room is empty and unlocked, go nuts, as long as it won't disturb someone else, and leave whenever someone official needs it."

My college is the same. A bunch of us took over a classroom one day and just watched movies.
I'm baaaaaaack, Who do you ask about that? Or do you ask anyone?
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyThat almost certainly depends on your college. I went to a very small school where you could basically take over anything you wanted and no one would care as long as you left it like you found it. Other places probably have more rules about that sort of thing to keep everything from going crazy.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.we didn't ask anybody. it all depends though. you could always check with some faculty.
I'm baaaaaaackGuys I need your BGM assistance. I am planning a trip to the shadowfell and I am trying to find the correct back ground music for it. It should convey bleakness, despair and the works. And depressing as hell. Any ideas?
I'm baaaaaaack
on a more serious note Found this.
Also you could try some of what Jagex has shared from runescape. Link. I Don't have time to dig through all of them for you, but "there has been a murder" might work, "Hunted" and "Bounty" sound somewhat creepy from the clip i listened to.
I'm baaaaaaackWould this work?
The Quake soundtrack.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatFATE and Harry Potter 1 (both on PC, and both probably available at, uh... Tortuga) have some good dungeon BGM's.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyWhen I ran the party through the shadowfell, they had to fight their way through an underground sewer run by Shadar Kai in ninja outfits.
I don't think that that's the right mood for what you're going for though.

Thanks guys, I kinda liked "Do you believe in Magic" and I will use it ironically somewhere.
Tch. You can't just use ironic songs!
I personally have 5.7 gigs worth of assorted BG Ms to choose from.
I personally like to use Tatta Hitotsu no Houhou for Hope Spot scenes.
Oh wait, the definition of Hope Spot isn't what I thought it was. Well damn.

So my usual way of running campaigns(read- what I've done all two times) of "procrastinate the forward planning, run out of time, and then run it by the seat of your pants with the basic notes you've got" once again proved to be a resounding success. a rather haphazard brawl with 3 zombies on the dock turned into an outright comedy of errors. The rogue threw 3 daggers, hitting(in order), his girlfriend, our Paladin, and his girlfriend again, before attempting to sumersault over another character to land an attack, only the fall flat on GF.
The other rogue decided to flee, hope on a nearby ship and flung a bees wasp hornets nest at the zombies, which then just attacked our party until the druid got them to stop.
The druid meanwhile was the only competent one, having gone tiger right off the bat and absolutely shredding the zombies with claws and fangs. Our fighter helped out a bit, and made contact a few times, and the paladin stabbed his own horse.

I'm baaaaaaackI hope that was on purpose, because I'd hate to play anything where you could do that by accident.
By the way, the funny stories thread is over here.

i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyWe were kind of half-assing it and were playing where really bad misses (1s and 2s) could hit a friendly. Paladin was on his horse and swung a 1
I'm baaaaaaackwhew. We just leveled up and I put one point into diplomacy, bringing it up to 14 in diplomacy, thinking that it would be smart, since the other characters have scores of 1, 4, 6,0 and 3 in diplomacy and we keep getting captured.
then one party member turned on another, because it came out that the second girl's father murdered the first girl's husband, and even though the first girl had just saved all our lives from her evil father and renounced him and stuff, second girl really wanted her dead.
luckily, I beat second girl's will save with my wonderful Don't-kill-our-friend diplomacy...by one point.

Well, this was more 3-3.75 and definitely not for P Cs.
So, what the CL for giving, say, a normal level 1 fighter fly at-will?
Could I toss her at a level 1 party?
