I don't object to the writer so much as I object to the whole thing being done at all. I doubt this'll be another The Maltese Falcon.

Can somebody explain to me why this would be a bad thing, asides from being a remake and thus probably will have all the problems that come with those? Christ, people, keep you memes out of a discussion. Twilight sucked because the original books sucked, not because the screenplay was so horrible.

I've heard otherwise about the source material vs. movie stuff, eX, but I do think that if this Rosenberg person was associated with Dexter this probably won't be the HORNY TEENAGE GIRL apocalypse.

I don't know anything else about Rosenberg.

You know what? I hope this movie turns out to be our generation's Citizen Kane, just so everyone wailing and gnashing their teeth in this thread will look silly.

Considering the superiority of the movies of the books, I can't say she's awful. I just think this whole business is foolish.

Compared to the rest of the franchise, I think they'd have to go out of their way to do worse.

And after watching the first one, excluding any Nostalgia Filter anyone might have, it shouldn't be too difficult to top the original.

Ok, maybe i'm doomsdaying, so i apologize for that. Seriously.

But This had better be one hell of a remake.

I haven't seen highlander. I have seen the twilight movie. Here's my opinion.

While I don't think that every movie needs to be remade I don't think we should completely disown this woman just because of her association with twilight. In fact I think she did a fine job in turning a mediocore book into a fairly tolerable movie. Imagine what she could do with something decent.

And on the plus side it can't be worse than "The Quickening." Maybe this will be the only to give the francise a much needed jolt. Maybe this could lead to a decent revamped (no pun intended) mythos and reverse so adaption decay.

And on the plus side it isn't being done by M. Night Shamamalamamata.

Rosenberg hasn't written any original material more offensive than a handful of The OC and Ally Mc Beal episodes, and her adaptations of Twilight are just that, adaptations.

I don't understand how Melissa Rosenberg keeps getting work. She makes Laeta Kalogridis and Simon Kinberg look good, for Christ's sake.

Which means she will make Connor Mac Leod one of two things:

1. a pale skinned emo who creeps up on much younger girls

or

2. an emotionless white boy who acts like he's black all the time

However, they better bring back Clancy Brown and/or Christopher Lambert in some way so this isn't a total waste.
