Not sure why I'm asking this, but oh well.

What games did you folks prefer?

Since I've never played RDR due to it not having been ported PC-wards, I'll simply admit that I enjoyed GUN very much. Awesomesauce soundtrack, entertaining story, didn't shy away from blood, Tom Jane as the protagonist for SOME versions (it's a long and convoluted story, from what I've heard), and, of course, Grand Theft Horsies =) What's not to like?

I loved Gun the best, but I'll have to agree with Falcon that Magruder was a bitch to fight. Headshot? What headshot?

Though Red Dead Revolver DID have a soundtrack styled after Ennio Morricone (and used most other Spaghetti Western tropes and parodied them quite well), so that games dandy too.

Having replayed Gun just recently (Gamecube and PC version), I WILL say that the game has the tendency to crash. So save every chance you get.

I do hate dropping a game and coming back w/out knowing what to do. But yeah, GUN is damn short.

Gun wasn't short for me, because I mosied around, doing every sidequest. (Achievements, baby!)

Gun every time. God I loved that game, some fond memories of it. RDR is still very good though.

Definitely GUN. Actually, in some ways, I thought GUN was better than Red Dead Redemption as well. It greatly benefited from a much more tightly scripted story, and the combat was less of the "pick people off from cover + Deadeye" that Redemption becomes towards the end. While Redemption is still the better game, GUN is a hell of a lot better than a lot people give it credit for.

Also,

Tom Jane as the protagonist for SOME versions (it's a long and convoluted story, from what I've heard)
I've never heard anything about this, elaborate?

Scratch that, my mind had some wires crossed. Tom Jane voiced Colton in all versions of GUN, what I was thinking of was The Punisher, he re-voiced the protagonist (as a tie-in to the movie where he played Castle) who initially had a different VO actor, bits of that old VO were still stuck in the game files. Sorry about it >_<
