Everyone would play Paradox games.
INT is knowing a tomato is a fruit. WIS is knowing it doesn't belong in a fruit salad. CHA is convincing people that it does.- So Okay, It's Average: Monday Night Combat (So Cool Its Awesome)
- Love It or Hate It: Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (So Okay, It's Average)
- So Cool Its Awesome: Halo: Reach (So Okay, It's Average)
- Bloody Hilarious: Naughty Bear (So Bad Its Horrible)
Any Sonic The Hedgehog game from the Genesis to Adventure would be so amazingly good that they'd not only cure blindess, but pay for your college education. Any game after that point would involve the designers coming to your house for the expressed purpose of kicking you in the balls and taking your TV.
Sonic Colors, on the other hand, would ressurect the dead and grant eternal peace. (Yeah, I'm still not impressed, so sue me.)

"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all" Futurama, Godfellas(Found this thread... hope no one minds if I bring it back...)
Love Plus would turn all Romance Game fans into PSL-obsessed lunatics who publicly declare their love for the fictional characters. Because a few crazy fans exist, everyone else is afraid of them and the things they like. Kind of like the way in which fantasy RP Gs turned all fans into suicidal, satantic cultists back in the eighties. And kind of like the way in which fighting games and FPS turned all fans into real life mass murderers back in the nineties.
I say this because I played a partly fan-translated version of Love Plus. My first impressions were okay, though I wasn't impressed by the polygon graphics. The gameplay seemed complex and the writing wasn't bad, but not necessarily better than some indie/freeware games written by English speaking fans.
Battlefield 3 would sell two copies for every one person on the Earth, set fire to Activision's headquarters on release, and turn all its owners into demigods.
C&C Renegade would not have been in The First Decade, having gone the way of Sole Survivor. No living human would actually have heard of either.
The universe would have imploded several times over based purely on the paradoxes of the Command And Conquer canon.
Peter Molinyeaux would have been hounded to suicide over Black And White 2.
Civilisation and Tetris would both be legally classified as class A drugs due to causing pandemic starvation with their addictiveness. Ditto Alpha Centauri for the same reason.
Anyone who bought Empire Earth 3 would be required to carry a leper's bell and shake it shouting "unclean" everywhere they walked.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. The sheer lack of quality and polish that went into Bloody Roar 4 would have swallowed up 8ing for good, sending them to Hell. As such, no Naruto: Clash of Ninja and especially no Tatsunoko Vs Capcom.

"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadBrawl would have more playable characters, as in the files shown. And the courses wouldn't mostly be gimmicky either. Likewise, it wouldn't have lag and would have more quality than quantity.
Twilight Princess wouldn't have a JRPG plot and Zant would've been the main villain.(not that the final fight wasn't awesome, but still)
Quest 64 threadI just realized, this is pretty much a complaint thread in disguise.
It's either complaining about people not liking a game, or complaining about a game not being as good as the hype.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Somewhat, but it's more related to hypothetical situations, and not just plain out complaining. It also has intellectual talk as well. Which may be the reason it's not locked. I mean, the discussion is quite mature.
And to be on-topic, Sonic Unleashed would've had a more controllable Sonic, and the gameplay would have more overall polish.
Quest 64 threadNot necessarily. I actually included points about several of my favourite games.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.I thought this was a joke thread and the people with legitimate complaints were missing the point.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackYeah, I'm taking this whole thing in stride. I'm mostly joking here (I will admit that Bloody Roar 4 was a very poorly-crafted game though).
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadWell, if Scurge Hive was as it was hyped, it'd be Western Metroid.

The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.SSBB would be the greatest game OF ALL TIME
I originally thought it was. But something about the Subspace Emissary pissed me off the more I played it.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.It was just a Kirby game in hiding?
The SSE wasn't terrible, but really felt out there in the series. I loved Adventure Mode, because it was still the overall same gameplay. Just with a hint of side-scrolling. The SSE actually made your characters weigh more just to make it harder.
Anyway, I think if it had the same feel as Adventure Mode, and the rest of the gameplay was overall better, not casualized, it would've been as awesome as Melee improved on the first Smash.
Quest 64 threadIf tripping and the bad AI was taken out, Brawl would have been a masterpiece.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I made this thread mostly after thinking about the huge difference between Daikatana pre-release and Daikatana post-release...
Every game gets hyped before release, but Daiktana goes a step beyond normal hype.
I could do a film version of this...but that would turn into a Flame War in less than a page.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I liked the final level of SSE, but then again, I enjoy exploring in general. If there was a game with nothing but an entire HUGE world to explore with maybe some enemies here or there with some stuff to find, it'd be GREAT.
By the way, I heard Dwarf Fortress pretty much runs reality while it's playing.
The thing about making witty signature lines is that it first needs to actually be witty.I have to ask....what's wrong with Subspace Emissary anyways?
Ignoring the ridiculously LONG final part(which isn't even exploration since you've been to all those areas already), it was pretty well down.
It's a decent story mode, by fighting games standards. I found it, believe it or not, more enjoyable than Mortal Kombat's storymode(the new one).
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."What. I'm not going to rib on SSE, but it suffered a lot due to so many plot thread being muddled by a lack of explanation and many of the characters seemed flat. That's what happens when no one save for Snake speaks. Say what you will about MK9 but at least its story was concrete and understandable.
"Oh no, Sanji's Chronic Simprosis!" - Kou The MadI thought Armageddon's Story Mode was horrible. The other ones were pretty good, IMO.
You see, the SSE was pretty much stolen by the Kirby crew, as well as the entire section was pretty much played like a Kirby game, not a fighting game.(compared to Adventure Mode, which actually did work well) If you weren't a Kirby character, you'd have a lot of trouble with it. It was purely designed for them. A more minor annoyance is the lack of other series' enemies. It just had Mario and Kirbyesque ones. Glire, Glire, and Glunder were pretty much not SSB-like at all. Roader was entirely something out of Kirby. Basically, the main problem with it is that the Kirby characters blatantly stole the show, and the gameplay of it was much harder because of the added Gravity.(a very bad move on both parts)
An interesting note is that Sakurai didn't want the Kirby characters to steal the show, so they got the least ammount of courses of the more known series. They got 2. Even F-Zero got three. You know, who has one character.
Quest 64 threadReally? I barely used Kirby and spent most of my time as Ness and one of the Fire Emblem character whenever I could...unless I can't select them, in those cases, I close my eyes and chose randomly...
My main beef with MK's story was pretty much it's treatment of Reptile and...some of the excuses for fighting...mostly involving Johnny Cage...and Smoke's sudden and pointless fight with Jade despite Raiden telling him to stop. And not giving Reptile a bigger role and a playable chapter. And the game as a whole giving Reptile the least creative fatalities.

Regarding TV Tropes: Chrono Trigger would have been one of the greatest contributions to human society and capable of solving world hunger (instead of being a standard, if well-made, jrpg). Chrono Cross would have been one of the foulest things imaginable and can cause incurable disease simply by being exposed to it (instead of being a great, if flawed, jrpg).
