Or else he was thinking of doing something like The Land Before Time did; direct to DVD is getting a little more respect these days.

Not that it'd probably be any good, but still.

We'll probably have to wait for the tv show for the rest of the Five to get development. Speaking of which, they're using CG for the show right? Because if they used the 2d animation from the movie, it would be pretty neat. I loved how those flashback scenes looked.

Yeah, those looked better. Something like the intro to the first movie or something like the flashbacks and such in the sequel.

I really liked the first one, and I haven't seen the sequel yet, but I didn't like hearing that Sifu has been reduced to a cameo in the reviews.

Well, from what I understand of the plot, having Shifu in it too much would've worked against the story arc. Po needs all his father figures temporarily out of the picture for it to work.

[up][up]Well, Shifu did replace Oogway, so he can't really leave the village. It was only when he felt that Po was in danger did he followed.

Just saw this. I have to say, I was rather impressed by it. It was just as good as the first one, maybe even better in some ways. The trailers don't do it justice. I also liked the villain, even if he wasn't a monstrous tough guy. He was pretty intimidating. I've always thought peacocks were a bit evil. I was attacked by one once.

I wish there had been another Cee Lo Green/Jack Black collboration, like a remix of Ballroom Blitz.

Did anyone else get the feeling that the Wolf Boss was Affably Evil? Or at least more of a "Bro" than a villain?

[up][up]I was anticipating another cover for a rock song somewhat like "Kung Fu Fighting", but none came.

[up][up]yeah, actually, he was kinda cool. It's a shame that his death was glazed over, but at least they treated it with a bit of respect. In fact, they treat death in general a lot better in this one, I think. Tai Lung's death was one of the biggest flaws of the first movie for me.

It felt like they leaned much more on the 'Kung Fu movie' side of the fence for this one, really. Even the aesop was kinda Kung Fu-y.

and if the third movie takes the route it seems like it will(Po's birth father seemed like a bit of a badass from that bit at the end), they could go even further, having the message about finding balance between every part of yourself.

Saw it today, was thoroughly impressed. Dreamworks has definitely become much better in the recent year and this was actually one of their rare films I actually found myself finding no real flaws to. Even though this might've started as another money driven sequel, the story was awesome, the characters were amazing and I found the emotional scenes of Po's Back Story to be as Tear Jerker-ingly poignant as the beginning scene of Finding Nemo.

Although I did find the Interspecies Romance to be off putting. Really Really hoping it's just friendly camaraderie not romantic interests.

I'm surprised they didn't left any mention of Tai Lung at all in the second film. I'm not really worried about that, as I found Lord Shen to be entirely interesting.

Some folks on the Internet think they're a special GIFT to the world, and others aren't. In this perspective, they're kind of right.

I loved the film. Lord Shen was awesome as a different kind of villain. One who was intimidating, but not in a My Kung-Fu Is Stronger Than Yours kind of way, rather in a sort of insane Trigger-Happy kind of way. His introduction wasn't as good as Tai Lung's, and he wasn't nearly as sympathetic as him either, but i still felt for him a little, and His relationship with the soothsayer was my favourite out of the entire film.

As with the last film I wished there was more character development for the furious 5 (especially Viper, she's so sweet) but everything else was great. It felt big, it took a few chances, annd most importantly it felt AWESOME. Wished it was a bit longer too, just so I could see more of the final fight. A Combat Pragmatist villain in a Kung Fu film is one of my favourite sights after all

Yeah, I was wishing it could be a bit longer too...The plot seemed a tad rushed.

Visually speaking, I loved it whenever Lord Shen went mano-a-mano. That tail makes for spectacular sweeping motions.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Nah, I agree. The characters were alright (Shen was great), but the story was horrible generic and I felt a lot of jokes were just cheap slapstick.

Saw the movie almost a week ago with my friend. I enjoyed it more than the first one, though I didn't see the first one in theaters so maybe that caused a difference in experience.

Anyway, I agree with the two above. Shen was a big reason why I enjoyed the movie so much. I absolutely loved the way he was animated, especially his first fight scene. Graceful yet deadly. And he uses his tail as a hang glider! How cool is that! When I first heard that the villain was going to be a peacock, I was skeptical but it turned out much better than expected.

I also found the set pieces and background stunning, some even better than in HTTYD, which is my favorite DW's film. I also loved that they used more of the 2D animation style for the flashback. Speaking of flashbacks, there were quite a few tearjerker scenes for me.
