As if any Dragon Quest main ever had an amazing and hyper detailed backstory...Fans...they hurt my brain...

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahPokemon.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. The street fighter ex sub-series.
Sonic The Hedgehog 4. Even back when the first real trailer for it was released, when everybody was whining and moaning and bitching over it, I was ecstatic over it.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Final Fantasy I totally ruined the Final Fantasy series. It was awesome before that game came out, but since then its been awful.
Jak II. So many people cried Ruined Forever, but it was one of the few series to go Darker and Edgier and be good at it.
Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes. Some of the complaints I heard over it were very silly. Like how many people were upset Mei Ling spoke like a genuine Chinese-American would sound. Not to mention those who said the Revolver Ocelot fight was ruined because you were now able to aim in first person. To me that proves what difficulty there was in the original versions' fight was a problem of visibility, and also aiming in first person felt more fluid for me. Maybe I played the original too late?
Chrono Cross. I can definately understand if people hate it for having a bad plot, everything else about the game is damned near perfect.
Why I am afraid of fences.Like many others Pokemon, some of the best designs are from the 5th gen so suck it hates.
World. Of. Warcraft. I feel like I'm the only person that has accepted most of the changes that Blizzard made. Everyone else on the otherhand...

Sorry, I can't hear you from my FLYING METAL BOX!It's a JRPG. Plot is what matters.
I didn't think Chrono Cross's plot was bad, but I did dislike how it transitioned from Chrono Trigger. Most of my dislike for the game comes from nostalgia.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.The New DMC looks fine to me unlike others....
I always found the music, gameplay, writing, and characters to be by far the more interesting parts of an RPG. Plots range from bad to passable most of the time. Are the plots of most of the JRP Gs I like amazing? Well no. Not really. Some don't even have plots more developed than "Beat the fuck out of stuff and save the world". Cross made up for its shitty plot and characters with awesome as fuck music, stuff to look at, more awesome music, and an entertaining battle system.
On that note I never even knew about the royal shitfits the Chrono fandom was throwing when Cross came out largely because I didn't even know there was a game before it. I can understand why there was upset over it. I enjoy Cross more though.

I actually liked Shadow The Hedgehog and Sonic Riders. According to 90% of the Sonic fandom, I have committed Fandom Heresy.
"Who wants to hear about good stuff when the bottom of the abyss of human failure that you know doesn't exist is so much greater?"-WraithNo. Not for the plot. For basically everything else that wasn't the plot. Especially the music...god damn that music was awesome...
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThe music is awesome. However, I think I'm one of the few that liked Cross's plot, or at least didn't mind it, even though I can barely remember it now. The only part I didn't like was the weird message you get when you get the True Ending...

I didn't hate it really. I just don't like it more for the plot. Plot's like the last thing I think about with RP Gs...
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahAny Pokemon and Sonic game.
There are lots of "high profile" franchises I think had nothing to ruin in the first place. So this happens a lot.

Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackOh yeah, I liked Nero's inclusion in Devil May Cry 4. I thought it was a cool touch.
I also declare that the creator's are making a huge misstep and have earned my ire with their newest addition to the DMC series. Hopefully they'll return to their established story and finally finish what they started with DMC 2. I know you're ashamed Capcom, step above that.
Command And Conquer 4 and Supreme Commander 2. I was with the haters at first as these were franchises I sort of grew up with (as in I've been following their developments but I haven't actually played the newer games), but after watching tons of videos I've come to the conclusion that they aren't the trash people make them out to be.
Tiberian Twilight has some really interesting mechanics if nothing else and it still looks pretty good as long as you avoid looking when squads turn and everything clips into a single mess of polygons.
Supreme Commander 2 has a stupendous amount of tactical depth that wasn't present in Total Annihilation or the original Sup Com games. Sure it stings that tank rushes aren't game ending any more but the mind games in top tier multiplayer are simply beautiful to watch.

Command and Conquer Generals. Well, ok, it's not that hated. But it's my favorite game. Doesn't belong in the Command and Conquer series but I think it is one of the best games ever.
Metal Gear Solid 2: OH NO RAIDEN ARE YOU KIDDING HE'S SO GAY AND PRETTY FUUUUUUU KONAMI. Grow up. God forbid they introduce a new character. Oh but when Metal Gear Solid 4 came out and he was a cyborg ninja you loved him. Hypocritical assholes.
Prince Of Persia 2008: REALISTIC INTERACTION BETWEEN CHARACTERS, BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS, AND INTENSE ONE ON ONE COMBAT? THAT'S GREAT! WAIT A SECOND INSTEAD OF A GAME OVER SCREEN YOU JUST GO RIGHT BACK TO YOUR CHECKPOINT? RUINED FOOOOOREEEEEVVVVEEEEER!!!!!
The deal with creating your own main character really doesn't make sense...We've been capable of that in a few of the games just not to the extent of this one. 3 and 4 come to mind. 3 even had you create the whole party...
Also, I liked the character creation feature of Dragon Quest IX. Considering that I like III, it's no wonder. That's what I don't get, isn't III quite popular in general? Why would they bitch about the charater creation, then?
I didn't get it either, but I'd say creating aspects of your characters' appearance is different from just choosing the gender of your characters ala III and IV. I think the complaints were coming from people who hate character creations because those type of characters don't have good back-stories, if any.
