Sweet!

I really liked this game as a kid, but I found the plot a bit confusing.

...Okay, seriously, while I was not a huge fan of the game, The Dark Id did a fantastic LP of it that made me interested in playing it again so I could do my own Serge-is-the-Only Sane Man playthrough. That would be worth the $10 for me.

Assuming it ever leaves the Japanese PSN.

Producer Shinji Hashimoto made the reveal.

Wait a minute, Shinji Hashimoto made the announcement? Wasn't he the one who said the Chrono Series wasn't selling well enough for a sequel?

Maybe not enough for a sequel, but it costs a lot more to develop a sequel than to take the source code for a game you already made and put it online.

Personally, I think that if Square were wise, they'd hire the Crimson Echoes team to make a sort of sequel mod for them rather than squashing their efforts flat.

I love how people act like that mod is some kind of holy grail of amazing just because of the C&D hoax.

Anyway, the only surprise about this announcement is how bloody long it took. The game sold well, so it's kind of a no-brainer that this should have already been on PSN.

Awesome.

Now they just need to get Threads of Fate and Legend Of Mana on there. They're pretty much the only PS One games I'm really interested in playing again.

The Dark Id did a fantastic LP of it...

Oh, I just finished reading most of his L Ps (specifically the Resident Evil ones; currently on Dirge of Cerberus) that were on the LP Archive website, but I didn't know he had done more.

Chrono Cross + PSN = Chrono Cross on my PSP correct? I generally don't follow Sony's stuff or how they operate.

I'd rather they not. That game is pure fucking fanfiction. (And I say this as a person who hated the plot of Cross.)

[down] Just because they wrote an interesting "what if" story doesn't mean they deserve to be officially writing the canon.

Huh, I'll have to hit this up. I played about... five hours? On a friend's borrowed Play Station back in the day, and had fun.

...Can has Jade Cocoon Stateside PSN, please? Similar situation, and I'm a sucker for Mons games.

I'm very happy for everyone who actually likes the Chrono series(Personally I find it awful and confusing with unlikeable characters)

I know they've been asking for this since like, the beginning of the PS One Classics.

They've both been on there since July of last year.
