Thief 4 (aka Thi4f)

First public discussion at GDC.

Holy crap.

I hate the fact that sequels are coming out.

But I love the fact sequels to awesome games that deserve them are coming out.

Why must you hurt me, gaming industry? Why?!

Thief 4 has been in development at least a year - this is the first time anything about it is being revealed.

I'm willing to bet it'll be unveiled at E3.

All this is is confirmation that the project is still ongoing. And that it has a stupid name. Find the generative music more interesting, honestly

Thiaf is actually an old word for Thief, so. >_>

Huh. Imagine that.

However much I dislike the name, this should still be interesting. Partly because, ya know, it's Thief.

Aside from the weird name, I'm quite excited myself, even though I'm yet to finish Thief 2 (Though, I am quite close to the end of the game)

As long as it has missions as awesome as Life of the Party and Rocking the Cradle, I will be a happy taffer.

First glimpse/

1. Wide open areas again! Yay!
2. Looks vaguely modern, with those street lamps, but then we have to remember those lamps were always there.
3. There are a lot of what looks like Trickster banners hanging. Yikes.

1. 2- Why is the release of sequels inherently bad? Its not like the Thief franchise has been over-milked, Activision-style.

I've been calling it "Thee-orf". It's an awesome name. Thee-orf, thee-orf, thee-orf. :3

Too bad I have no interest in it since I couldn't even get past the first level in the second one. Yes, I suck. But I <3 SS 2!

It's officially "Thief 4." The logo "Thi4f" is not official - just a cute logo stylization.

New cinematic leak.

I will be very disappointed that they didn't follow up on the ending of Thief 3 with taking that little girl at the end as his protégé. I mean come on.

Yes, we ALL know. Just try to ignore it, it helps a lot.

They ruined the title with that 4. But on the other hand - squeeeeee! Can't wait, can't wait!

Considering that Thief was before Thiaf, thats makes sense

So, has there been any new news? I would have thought this would be further along. Wasn't it announced about the same time as Hitman 5?

( I have this game on the mind because of a Steam sale on the Thief games, which let me get all three for 6 bucks. I like Thief 2, its great. )
