Shit just got real.
According to a magazine article published the day before the premiere, Redhead does make her debut in Ep.4. All we can say for sure is that her name is Sakura Kyouko (or Sakura Anzu, depending on pronunciation), and that she appears to be that most frightening of things, a delinquent, Chaotic Neutral Magical Girl: Kill the Witches, take the Grief Seeds, and don't waste your time blabbering about that peace-love-and-justice bullshit, 'cuz it's every Puella Magi for herself out here.
Speculation is already rampant that she fights with magical brass knuckles or something similar. Speculation is also tending toward the conclusion that Mami is not coming back, in favor of handing the spotlight off to this character. As Urobuchi puts it: "No one ever actually said there were only going to be four magical girls."

Well if Mami fights at long range with her flintlocks and still got her head chomped off...Sakura's gotta be hardcore to use something like brass knuckles.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."There's only Madoka, Sayaka, redhead, Mami, and Homura in the ED. Same with the OP. Of course, there's always the possiblity of Evolving Credits. Or the others being minor
The OP has already evolved within the first three episodes. Lord knows what else SHAFT are going to change along the way.
^^^^ This show
Alright Sayaka, that was some impressive super speed with the sword, but I better see a real Unlimited Blade Works from you.
On another note, suicide circle now? MOTW indeed....
I'm calling it, Madoka makes a contract in Episode 6. Firstly because it's the halfway point of the series. Secondly because she's afraid for her own survival. She's terrified of making the contract because of what happened to Mami, but as she's discovered in this episode, without powers she will be in deep trouble. It's a matter of simple survival: you've met magical girls, you've hung out with magical girls, your best friend just became a magical girl... unless Madoka makes that contract soon, she might as well have a bullseye painted on her forehead, or at least a witch's kiss in the shape of a bullseye. She might try to hack it as a Badass Normal, but she won't live very long that way; if it hadn't been for Sayaka, in fact, Madoka would be dead now.

Something I like about this show in contrast to the normal magical girls is that Madoka still doesn't have her powers yet. They're showing the consequences of actually being magical and allowing the characters to develop into the role themselves instead of them just instantly accepting.
But then again, Urobuchi and all...
Subs are out!
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Okay, so now we definitely know that Cubé has Mind Control/low-level Reality Warper powers. And now I'm not sure whether Homura knows what'll happen if Madoka becomes a Magical Girl, or just doesn't want her to go through any ordeals.
You sure about that? I just thought that he either thought Sayaka would go for it and was lurking around, or that Sayaka somehow summoned him by deciding that yes, she would go for it.

I get the impression that he can teleport and merely responded to her thoughts. He wasn't waiting around for her, he's simply everywhere at once.
Yeah, I was under the impression that he can get summoned by people thinking about him.
I'm worried that Kamijo's recovery is going to turn out badly.

Tumblr here.I'm sure it's going to end up badly
...
Is it February 3rd yet?
Dammit SHAFT, I really like your dark take on Magical Girls.
Kyubey is the most sinister thing ever.
Though at this point I'm starting to doubt that Mami is ever coming back... the only reason I still have hope is because she's still in the opening.
Madoka could wish for her to come back... but since, apparently, this hasn't crossed her mind yet and I get the feeling that she'll become a Magical Girl right in the middle of a near death experience, I doubt she will.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Transformation to horror series: complete
Wondering about how Madoka retained the ability to see the witch's kiss even without Kyuubey around. Don't recall hearing anything about her being granted a small level of magic...
The witch this time is just a small TV with wings? That's quite a downgrade compared to the last one...
That said, I'm starting to like the teacher more and more, and something tells me she'll be a target of a witch sooner or later.
Also, what did Sayaka mean in the beginning when she said that theres a price to pay for miracles? The intro seemed kinda ominous.

You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat! It's episode 4, actually.
That's because Elly (I think that's her name) WASN'T a witch. She wasn't hiding behind a maze of doors like the previous two, she didn't get the freezeframe-plus-name-in-runes treatment the other two witches got... she didn't even drop a Grief Seed when Sayaka finished her. This is something like a familiar upgraded, like one of the Anthonies (Gertrud's puffball guys) got promoted from slave to independent creature of evil. Word of God says that familiars can develop existences independent of the witch who creates them, although they retain a family resemblance.

1◊
She can probably see a witch's kiss due to this "potential" of hers that Kyubey keeps talking about.
Actually, some people think that this one might have been a minion. Each witch so far has been introduced with a name subtitle. This one didn't, unless I missed it.
EDIT: Yeah, no grief seed, either.

Elly is probably Kirsten's familiar
So, is there any word about a soundtrack album for this?
Or am I way too early?
You can't even write racist abuse in excrement on somebody's car without the politically correct brigade jumping down your throat!Dude where do you guys get these names?! I can understand Charlotte and Gertrude since thye have a zelda style name reveal, but all the mooks and familiars?
And...what?◊
That said, I thought Sayaka's weapon was supposed to be that bat.

Liveblog of episode 2 is up
On speculation of the next episode, I think it's about time for that redhead in the opening to show up
