Even though she's almost as omnipresent as Hale, I'd still like to see Samus voiced by Mary McGlynn. But I'm not exactly opposed to having Martin return to the role - it's not like we've ever heard her be directed by someone who can speak English, or using a script which has been competently written and translated.

... Who was that lady who voiced Samus in Brawl? Alesia Glidewell?

I liked her okay, even if she only had like four lines.

I sure said that!

From two pages back, the space pirate duality is easily explained by the Zebesians being a separate sub-species, designed to be efficient tools for Mother Brain to use and nothing more.

[up] No, it wasn't Jennifer Hale

Samus doesn't sound like Shepard; Shepard sounds like Samus. The first Mass Effect was released in 2007. The first Metroid Prime was released in 2002. Hell, Corruption was released before the first Mass Effect.

But Samus gets so little voice acting and Shepard gets so very much that I can't blame people for associating the voice with Shepard more.

That is so cool. And the title is a reference to this, I bet.

Indeed it was. The uploader mentioned it in the description.

So you know how Samus is turned into a sex symbol whenever her power suit comes off? What do you think the general reaction would be if she kept the suit but fought without the helmet for some reason?

...I dunno, maybe someone stole it because of all the scan data it had in it.

A helmetless appearance would be good for an alternate costume, as with the suitless Samus in the original Metroid; but actually making it her primary appearance for a whole game wouldn't be in keeping with the character. Though it might be interesting if she temporarily had to use ancient Chozo armour for whatever reason.

Maybe filling in the gaps with bits of Federation armor, so it looks like an awkward hodgepodge.

If she plays like Eric Lecarde while wearing that, I will be amazed.

Samus not having a HUD might be fun for a New Game Plus. But she'd have no scanning, no targetting, no awareness of her health or items...

Perhaps a Hard Mode after 100% completion.

It would be kinda neat. Kinda Classic Resident Evil esque. I mean they share enough stuff already

You could move the HUD to the gamepad if it was a Wii U game. I always wanted to see a Metroid game on that where the TV shows a third person perspective and the gamepad shows first person.

I think they've already done that in Prime 3. You can edit the visibility of the HUD to the point where it's hidden completely. There's no achievement for doing stuff like that, though, so it's entirely a Self-Imposed Challenge.

They should have a boss that's a genetic hybrid of Dark Samus, Mother Brain, and Ridley. And then it turns out it's her true mother and father through time travel.

That would make Samus her own grandmother since Dark Samus is kinda like her child with Metroid Prime.

Imagine an open world Metroid where you are on a planet full of ruins and stuff and you can just travel around and explore caves and ruins and ancient temples and face shoot aliens in the face. Like Elder Scrolls except sci-fi so Elder Datalogs.
