I am bumping this, because the other forums are either so slow, or have no interest in Zexal outside of the cards.
Saw the two episodes that got subbed the other day.
Not bad, I didn't really care for 5Ds for whatever reason (it was hardly bad, I just never really watched it). Anyway, I like that the protagonist is a complete idiot, maybe he'll actually lose a duel.
Also, do want Leviathan/Revise Dragon
also, something that's been confusing me, has the official English name of the series been released? Because judging by the logo, it doesn't look like Zexal it looks like Zeal written over an X, so I'm thinking it's maybe supposed to be Zeal X? I dunno.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Imagine this: they made it have more kid-like in animation and such to make the eventual Cerebus Syndrome due to a potential Dr. Weil Expy even more jarring.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.They did Cerebus Syndrome already.
Personally, I think it'd be rather cheap of them to do it again. Given the general anime output recently, I could go with a standard adventure story.
That takes a backseat to the duels for me, though. As a rule of thumb, if I'm watching a duel and I think "do want" about at least one of the monsters, it's a good duel.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if Leviathan/Revise Dragon has an official English Print yet, and for that matter, an official English name? I hate having to refer to it as both.
Also I've already seen at least one argument about who would win in a duel between the new pseudo-bad guy (Shark) and Kaiba. Personally, I think Kaiba'd win, because you know, he's (at least he looks, anyone know Kaiba's age?) a good deal older than Shark. But that aside, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Yugi's sixteen and they're in the same class, so he's an emancipated minor of about sixteen or seventeen.
;_; Why do I know this...?

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Leviath Dragon is the proper Japanese name. But its not uncommon for cards to be renamed for their english release. For example: No.39 Aspiring Emperor - Hope became Utopia. For more information: Numbers.
Oh, and Shark isn't the Kaiba of the season. I'm not too sure, but personally I'd label Shark as the Bakura.
I'm just reporting the argument I saw.
And anyway, I'm only two episodes in, so I don't really know much yet.
Also, they renamed Hope? Boo.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Wait until you get to episode 9. You will love it. Nya~
Well, afaik, only 1 and 2 have been subbed so far. So it'll be awhile.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....What? No. There are subs for episodes 1, 2, 5, 7 - 15. Or are you watching online?
Watching online....where else would I be watching? I don't live in Japan, which, as far as I know is the only place it's airing on TV yet.
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....edit: found all the episodes subbed available on DailyMotion.
I use torrents. Glorious 720p.

Kaito vs Shark◊. Can't wait. Today's episode will have C No. 39 Aspiring Emperor Hope Ray.
Where I go to watch subbed anime. Through episode 17 is subbed right now.
How is the series doing at this point? I dropped it because there is no reason for the main character to be such an idiot (he has supposedly been playing for quite some time and he has to have everything explained to him?!) and the Tell-not-Show attitude for how different effects were explained (Did they really have to set up entire duels to explain one type of card at a time?).
@ Spain Sun! post 55: Personally, I don't see how Cerebus Syndrome could not come into play. It is starting out relatively lighthearted, but the effects that the Number cards have on their owners are not pleasant already, and are getting worse. To see what I mean, just apply a little Fridge Logic to the effects we've seen and what the people could have done if they had different basic goals.
If you want a TCG show that has a clear reason for all the explaining, focuses on the game itself, and has Characters (capital "C" because everyone has some sort of personality quirk and they are mostly within reason), I recommend Cardfight Vandgard. It follows the story of a brand new player (who looses regularly), few of the "Fights" rely on pure luck, and, while there are hints of something else going on, it is thirty episodes in without any reliance on magical abilities. Tough it took a few episodes for the tactics to get interesting.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Welp, Yuuma just went full Super Sayan◊.
Alright, I admit he's redeemed himself a bit now.
Watch SymphogearI dropped VG because it seemed pointless to wacth an Anime about NOTHING but cardgames; especially when our Main almost always loses, Kai is a supersue; and they skimp on the actual games which is like a porn editing out the sex for the "story."
Let's make a TCG!And watch Digimon while you at it, especially Digimon Xros Wars, which is not only a love letter to previous digimon series before it and their Super Sentai influence, but also the Super Robot Genre as well.

Watch Symphogear...You mean love letter to Data Squad?
And to Super Robots?
...
I may need a macro to express my feelings
Become the fang for those who have none! Help FanserviceFTW!Digimon has always had a bit of Super Robot influence in it. Similarly, a lot of the machine type monsters in Yu Gi Oh do as well.
Watch SymphogearWargreymon, Metalgarurumon, Imperialdramon... OMG You're right!
Actually I watched every Digimon and Yu Gi Oh, except these last ones.
Actually, I watched Zexal until the first part of the duel against the Reversal Kid
Become the fang for those who have none! Help FanserviceFTW!I stopped at around the same time, but I went off of the spoilers and skipped to the raw of the episode where Yuma does go Super Saiyan in that above image.
Its even done through a Fusion Dance!

Watch Symphogear
I can agree with that. The whole setting is like that for me.
But the level of stupidity is just... "Tactics? Is that something you can eat?" and the number of only-a-first-time-player-would-do-that mistakes from the first episode (being surprised about the fact that traps exist comes to mind) gets on my nerves. And those are after it has been explained that he has played/watch people play before.
I don't mind the general misuse of the cards and their effects nearly as much. Goodness knows that I have forgotten what traps I have set and where I set them a number of times. Though it is usually because of how many cards I have set and how long they have been set.
