@dark character stuff: I'm thinking Villager as a Godfather figure would be both dark and frickin' hilarious.

I can't play Fox in Melee/PM. I kind of like his playstyle but SHFFL'ing with him is insane and he destroys your hands, I'm cringing just thinking about waveshining or multishining...

Actually, now that I think about it, Nintendo games have a lot of dark elements in them:

• The fact that no characters in Awakening have feet (My headcanon is now Palutena gave them feet to piss off the Awakening gods. It would be in character for the god of trolling known as Palutena)

• In Kirby 64, the planet Shiver Star is a post-apocalyptic Earth

• Dead parents are part of Samus's, Fox's, and Lucina's backstories (though Lucina is the only one to end up preventing this)

• In Star Fox Adventures, Krystal's home planet was destroyed by Andross

• Wind Waker's backstory is that Hyrule was flooded to stop Ganondorf

• All of Star Fox Assault

• Can we say about all of MOTHER 3?

• Several parts of Kid Icarus Uprising: Hades causing a war over a fake MacGuffin, Viridi's Establishing Character Moment of killing off those human armies, and the entire Chaos Kin arc.

• Lavender Town

• And the Big Bad's plan in Super Paper Mario.

Lots of Nintendo characters are Conveniently an Orphan. Parents get in the way of adventuring and angst and fun and carrying swords when you're 13.

I think Word of God eventually confirmed that the world in Pikmin is Earth After the End. And don't forget the theory of the Umibozu and how it relates to the Waterwraith.

Everything is as dark as it needs to be to suit the story/tone. Which is why Zelda has radical shifts each game in accordance to its plot and theme. Smash is a mixup of tons of elements, so you need to decide what fits with what you want to write. Someone please tell them I was screwing around with the feet thing. I'm too busy chuckling to do it.

Pokemon in general is a tad dark too. I mean, those evil teams are pretty darn nefarious (except Gen 3 Aqua and Magma and Neo Team Rocket). Hell, Cyrus tried to destroy and remake the universe, Alpha Sapphire Archie wanted to reset the planet (not sure what Omega Ruby Maxie was up to), Ghetsis was just a flat out abusive parent, and Kalos got hit by a magic nuke powered by the lifeforce of Pokemon.

And that's not even touching the spin-offs which are... well, worse usually. Shoutouts to Darkrai in Mystery Dungeon.

Maybe it's me but Japan seems to like Going Cosmic way more than the west does.

re:Tier List: Well, that is interesting. Was expecting customs to even out Marth and Lucina a bit, but apparently it makes her fall two tiers behind and end up the worst clone. Oh well.

(Luigi staying at top of A tier is good! Robin hanging in B Tier is even better. Ganondorf's jump to almost top of C Tier is also great!)

Dark Elements in Nintendo:

I completely forgot about Chauncey the Ghost (basically, a baby that is a ghost...)

Jeebus, Nintendo's dark elements can probably give the Dark and Edgy era of Sonic a run for its money.

i think the scariest mario thing is that the mushroom kingdom's sewage system is filled with fire spitting carnivorous plants mainly because those never go away

That's kinda tame, IMO, compared to stuff like Amputated Feet (Fire Emblem (which now in my headcanon, the Awakening characters get the same cybernetic stuff that Luke Skywalker got after Vader cut his hand off (It's possible because of the fact that my headcanon for Nintendo is that all franchises are in the same universe, so Fox would be kind enough to some of his Smash Bros comrades to give them something that looks like feet)), or Ghost Babies (Luigi's Mansion).

(...By the way, you know Sterok was kidding about the feet thing, right? It's just an issue with the character models in Awakening. I honestly can't tell if you're just going with the joke or really believe that's canon.)

I've only played the first 4 chapters of Awakening.

If I were to give Lucina a Does Not Like Shoes quirk, it'd work best in webcomic or animated form.

Speaking of how Awakening's models don't look like they have feet:

In Sonic Adventure, the character models don't have fingers in the Dreamcast version. DX gave them fingers and makes the models look worse with fingers.

You seem to have a fixation on Lucina's feet.

Don't ask why, not even I know.

Though probably a lot of that was because of Sterok joking about Awakening's character models not having feet, and me thinking that was canon.

I can't find it, but there was a comic of a kid playing with pegs and holes, and putting Chrom's ankle-stub-pseudo-foot-thing into the round hole, with Chrom looking annoyed.

So I'm ripping the Smash Brothers soundtrack and putting it on my computer and I noticed that all the song titles are in Japanese. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Now I'm wondering how Pit and Dark Pit would react if someone hit their toes with the hammer/golden hammer.

It would probably hurt like hell for them.

I'm pretty sure anyone would be in a lot of pain if you did that.

Just saw that tier list. Didn't expect Pikachu and ZSS for S rank. Well, at least Robin is at a cozy B. Shame about Lucina, though. And hah, Little Mac is a D. I thought Bowser was higher, though?
