At the moment I don't feel paranoid about people stealing any of my ideas, this is partly because I haven't posted any of my ideas. I tend to be more worried that no one would be interested in my ideas. Example:
However most of my ideas appear for a couple tenths of a second before being replaced by a new one, and some of them I can't adequately express into words. If only telepathy existed...
Yes indeed it would.

Has ADD, plays World of Tanks, thinks up crazy ideas like children making spaceships for Hitler. Occasionally writes them down.Or a thought recorder. That'd be neat.
A brighter future for a darker age.Well, I personally take a little notebook and pen with me if I go somewhere, to record those fleeting inspirations.
no one will notice that I changed thisYou're all probably right, I'm just a paranoid son of a bitch.
Frequently before I go to bed I'll lay there for a 15-30 mins with a tape recorder just having a stream of consciousness.
"This thread has gone so far south it's surrounded by nesting penguins. " — MadrugadaNot a bad idea. Sometimes I'll have ideas when I'm lying in bed, just before I fall asleep, and can't remember them when I wake up. Frustrating.
no one will notice that I changed thisI always write down my dreams. Really helps, even if I jot down a basic summary of them.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.I'd just suggest finding one or a few fellow writers that you admire, that you can trust, and that are eager to help and share your works with them, King Zeal. I also suggest finding these fellow writers in real-life, because it's easier to measure a person's sincerity in person.
This is what I do with my writing, even though it usually means my mom is my audience. It works out fine though because I can tell whether my mom is genuinely ammused or just pretending to be ammused.
As far as idea-stealing, I only have one idea that I fear being stolen. Most of my works' premises are too familiar to create interest on their own. They only become good from their execution (or they don't, in which case I scrap them).
I don't know whether I'll share anything here. I just started browsing this forum a week ago.
I don't really care whether people steal my ideas, because I know they won't execute them the same way. So Yeah.
As for spoilers... meh. I guess I don't care about those either, since spoiler hounds will be spoiler hounds. As long as nobody's an asshat about it, although if they are it probably means my books are popular so I should probably shut up and stop complaining.
No breasts/scrotum on that last post. Shit just got real. -Bobby G- I sheepishly raise my hand*
Also, blatantly stealing a story would be reputation suicide for a published author or publisher. Genuine cases of this get people up in arms about it, including the writers' professional associations and the like.
Random internet loser, perhaps, to stick on their Fictionpress account and claim it was theirs. That's about it.
False Accomplishment Syndrome can be real, but for me it's counterbalanced by the fact that talking about things helps firm them up in my mind.
A brighter future for a darker age.
