Sufjan Stevens — "They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back from the Dead!! Ahhhh!"
@sharkcrap: Yeah, FIF broke up back in 2003, then in 2011 they realized that they still had a fanbase, so they decided maybe it was time for a reunion tour and album. It turned out very well—certainly helped by the fact that Scott Kerr rejoined the band for this incarnation.
Also also, FIF's Micah Ortega contributed to those Soul-Junk albums I listened to (credited as DJ Mizzicah). That was just something I remembered after the fact, not a deliberate point of transition.

I didn't write any of that.@ Meta Four: Sweet. Hafta check that one out. Also, didn't know he contributed to anything Soul-Junk. An odd bit of trivia, to be sure... Interesting, though.
Also, Dick Dale and Sufjan Stevens. More choices I approve of.
Nine Inch Nails - "Into the Void": No relation to the Black Sabbath song of the same name (which I also have on my computer), though both are about escaping, albeit in completely different senses. Also, both have epic riffs.

Technically unacceptable, sure, but a bit of extra... heavy suits the song well, I find.

I didn't write any of that.@ Catfish 42: Depending on which song/album, though, BOC didn't necessarily lack for heavy. Like I said, it depends...
That said, Deep Purple are an amazing band as well.
