Meet the Tropers: newbie thread/introductions.

The one where the post has a pink background is a Mod Hat post. If you see a post like that you'll know the Mod is speaking as a Mod, with the authority of that position. The background is meant to make the post stand out. Most Mods have a Mod Hat avatar that's different from their main one. Usually there's some reference to the idea that the Mod is wearing their official Mod Hat unfortunately, such hats don't actually exist as physical objects.

I wanted one with Vimes wearing a helmet. I thought the one with the crossbow was good because it's a bit more serious than my main avatar. And yeah, I'm the sort of person who'll actually think about this stuff and try to decide whether the crossbow is too threatening and so on. (I'm still unsure about that...)

Vimes always stroke me as the kind of guy who ligs a cigar in a fight to then take it out in somebodys face. Vimes in general is threatening.

Hello everyone. I'm Bast/Loren, from the tiny little country of Portugal. I've been browsing through TV Tropes for quite a while now, but only Got Known recently, with only a few small edits made.

I enjoy (mostly detailed and freeform) forum roleplaying, gaming and reading. And watching too much TV.

Also, Vimes. Vimes is awesome. So is Discworld. So was Terry Pratchett.

Second Edit: I haven't even created a Contributor page yet, so this would be just for posterior knowledge. ;)

There's that 'edit' button on the top left. I don't know if it does anything but it might be worth checking out.

If you want to create a proper trope/work page on the wiki, use the Wiki Sandbox instead.

Hey guys, I'm Infinity, a high-school freshman who is hopelessly addicted to TV Tropes. I'm not too active on the actual wiki. Forum Games is currently my favorite place to be on the wiki. I like playing games (Team Fortress 2 is my favorite), and watching reviews from people like Yahtzee (Zero Punctuation) on Youtube. I probably won't say much when I post, as I'm not a social person, but hopefully we'll get to know each other better as I spend more time here.

Hello All, I'm Getbackupagain, I discovered the tropes wiki through looking up random things related to whatever Show/Movie/Book/Game/Fandom/Pursuit I happened to be obsessed with at any given moment, and decided to finally get known.

I get hooked on a Fandom every so often and it kind of consumes me for varying amounts of time, usually relative to the cannon material associated with it, For example, my obsession with Half Life2 and Sherlock lasted for about 2-3 months, while my obsession with Marvel Lasted for years.

That said, I never really become un-obsessed, It just becomes sort of a background process until new material is released, or I find new material.

Of course, a comprehensive wiki about breaking down crazy amounts of pop culture, nerd/geekdom, and fandoms into discrete elements and examining them was adding fuel to a fire and the rest was (browser)history.

Well, now that I know that this thread exists, allow me to ramble on about myself for a little while:

Hello all. I'm Delightfully Quirky. Shorten my username however you'd like or just call me by the full thing, it really doesn't matter.

I'm female, I live in Canada and I'm likely younger than most of the people on this site, due to being just shy of sixteen.

I found TV Tropes about a year and a half ago, thanks to a friend who linked me to it one day. The rest is pretty much history: I fell in love with this wiki and have been reading it often since then. However, it's taken me a while to actually getting around to making an account, as you can see. (I'm a grade A procrastinator when it comes to things like this.)

Other than lurking on the internet, my interests include reading (novels, comics, manga, pretty much anything with words in it) and doodling in my spare time. When it comes to fandoms, I'm rather obsessed with Doctor Who, Valve's Portal series and superheroes of all sorts. I'm also an avid cartoon watcher. But I'm mainly just your average dork.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to be here!
