• Friendly Fandoms: With Rooster Teeth and Achievement Hunter, due to the mutual presence of Gavin Free.
• Heartwarming Moments: The ending of "Diving into a Moving Swim Cap" has Gavin happily jumping onto Dan and screaming with joy since they hadn't seen each other in person for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Nightmare Fuel: The backdraft episode. It's a bit more realistic than the film, but all the scarier for it ("scorched-marshmallow" measuring scale notwithstanding).
• Surprisingly Improved Sequel: The reception to Planet Slow Mo was generally much warmer than the reception to The Super Slow Show, as many people still enjoyed the larger scale of the experiments and use of experts to dissect the concepts of the experiments.
• Technology Marches On: Framerates that once seemed impressive such as 10,000 FPS become insignificant overtime as faster cameras become frequent and less expensive. 10,000 FPS seemed impressive at the time until more cameras gave them faster frames. Culminating in 343,000 FPS, five seconds produces nineteen-and-a-half hours worth of footage.
• They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Not to a massive extent, but the comments on most episodes of The Super Slow Show tend to be equally divided between people talking about the video, people enjoying the larger scale of the experiments, and people lamenting that the backyard videos were better because they weren't as polished.
  • A more valid complaint is that the high speeds shots are filmed in 4k, reducing the overall framerate that's possible with lower resolutions.
