YMMV: The Biogate
  • Ass Pull: To some, Sephiroth being revealed to be the Big Bad was this.
    • Stein becoming a Dark Signer in arc 1 came with literally no foreshadowing and thus gets called this sometimes.
  • Author's Saving Throw: Arc 4. Not only did it come after a period where the rp seemed dead for good, it brought back some major rp'ers (such as Silver and Mel) but also brought new rp'ers and friends to the table and revive many of the original members rping love.
  • Base Breaker: Trying to figure out who might the closest character to being the main protagonist tends to cause some debates as some point out Raine, Yusei, and Emil, while others will claim their own character.
  • Broken Base: The Dark Signer's quickly became this. Some liked them as villains and some hated them and were bothered when new ones came around.
    • The ban on horror games as a series for characters has many who agree but also many who disagree due to the blurred lines between certain horror games.
  • Creator's Pet: You'll see easily who are the characters most focused on.
  • Crossover Ship: A completely legit and actually thing. You'd be surprised how many Ship's actually work well together. Examples include:
    • Flynn and Zelda, which is arguably the most tragic pairing out of all of the Ship's.
    • Zelos and Judith because their both flirts who hide their true nature under a teasing attitude.
    • Bruno and Aigis get shipped by the Roleplayers due to to many times Aigis and him talk together.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Jenkins, the one of shot Butler who Zelos and Teddie hired. Turns out he's a Doppelganger and he's Affably Evil.
  • Evil Is Cool: Dio
  • Evil Is Sexy: Yami Marik
  • Growing the Beard: For most, arc 2. The story became more complex, more diverse, and most of the rp'ers became more comfortable in their roles. Many new and lasting rp'ers came in during this arc
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: A cross over story involving Yuri Lowell, Estelle, Flynn Scifo, Dante, [[Video Game/Darkstalkers Hsien-Ko]], where various locations are visited and the Big Bad has some sort of Assimilation Plot? I wonder where I've hear of that?
  • Memetic Mutation: "Zelos is the most popular landing zone!"
    • "Martel is a whore!" Followed by glares.
    • AND LET IT BE KNOWN, If there is a cross series, Raine shalt hath it.
    • Avacnela wants to dissect you!
    • 'Can Naoto shoot X?'
    • Western Ruins, come take our souls!
    • Crow's D-Wheel can fit HOW many people?
    • Martha and her 'wonderful' closet!
    • "When life gives you lemons..." Referring to a conversation had in a chatroom with various members of the rp relating to the fact that Dio Brando and many of the people he plans on manipulating seem to have yellow hair equating them to Lemons. Also referencing Portal 2 "I'm the guy who's going to burn your house down. With the Lemons!"
  • Older Than They Think: Cross over rp's are certainly rare but the Biogate is not the first fully dedicated one that's existed.
  • Possession Sue: Some characters are viewed as being taken this way as some for example are played against canon or have details that obviously are wrong.
  • Second Season Downfall: Averted, it was the third arc that was considered this.
  • Shocking Swerve: The appearance of Wiseman and the Black Moon Clan completely shifts the story.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: In early arc 2, Yuan places a device on Luke. This never gets referenced again.
  • Too Cool to Live: Haseo, Keima, and Lelouch. The later two didn't stay around for too long.
  • Wangst: Genis's dying and final post in arc 4 was filled to the brim with this.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: It's a roleplay filled with genocidal war, lots of character death, and rather complex plot lines involving heavy angst and depressions. Theres a reason it's a pg-13 rated rp for a reason.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Badass?: Discussed usually on a meta example as to why some characters are hard to play as over time.
  • Win BACK The Crowd: Arc 4, as listed above in Author's Saving Throw.
  • World Of Woobie: Really we can't list all of the, every character (mainly good guys), are very sympathetic and just sad to watch.
