Today it's one of the most quotable French comedies there is alongside Les Tontons flingueurs and Les Visiteurs, see below.

• Harsher in Hindsight : Katia's "The Reason You Suck" Speech about the narrowness of Pierre and society in general. It was surprisingly modern for the era (1982), and many LGBTQ+ members of the audience can still relate to this. Unfortunately, later in his career, Katia's actor, Christian Clavier, became famous for having conservative opinions, and even supported politicians of this current. He also often played roles of conservative men in movies since about 2014 (though to be fair, they're always ridiculed for their thinly veiled bigotry in these films).
