- Anvilicious: The "anti-bullying show" really hammers down its lessons to the point it may roll some eyes.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The Green Knight. Well to be specific, his evil 2006 incarnation.
- Estrogen Brigade: Many women love the franchise not just for the "Queen of Love and Beauty" title one could get, but because the actors playing the knights are hot.
- Evil Is Cool:
- The 2006 Green Knight is the most popular of the character's incarnations.
- For the 2018 incarnation the knight who betrays the Queen (which can be anyone) falls under this too.
- Fandom-Specific Plot: There’s a plethora of Fan Fiction from other fandoms (especially RPF) with the plot “working at Medieval Times”. There’s little-to-none of actual Medieval Times fanfiction.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Many think of the Power Rangers when watching the fake fights, especially with the color-coded uniforms. Then comes the actual knight-themed Power Rangers season.
- Narm Charm: It's a dinner theater where you eat without utensilsnote and you root for knights fake-fighting akin to a sports game. But it's really fun.
- Nightmare Fuel: The Dungeon museum filled with replicas of medieval torture devices. It's strongly advised children shouldn't enter, and if they do they have to come with a guardian.
- Rooting for the Empire: Following his descent into villainy starting with the 2006 show, many fans have come to root for the Green Knight to win, if only because he's deliberately designed to be a Hate Sink destined to lose every time, and they want to see him actually earn a victory.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The common reception against the new storylines. The 2012 show gets hit hard with this, as it's commonly compared to the previous 2006 show. However, changing the king to a queen protagonist in 2018 and its respective show has been met with overall positive reception thus averting this.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Despite their expanded backstories, the Knights of the Realm don't have any adventures outside of the dinner show to explore further into them as characters. A slight complaint regarding the new shows is that the given distinct personalities of the Knights get progressively watered down to the point they're interchangeable with each other.
- Values Dissonance: The video "Real Knights Give Dating Advice" made with BuzzFeed has been poorly received for trying to apply the dated codes of chivalry to modern-day advice for dating women. Although the video was meant to be a lighthearted advertisement, it rubbed many viewers the wrong way.
- WTH, Costuming Department?: The Chancellor's design in the 2006 show attempts to combine all the knights' symbols and colors. The result is a tunic that looks more like a quilt.
