YMMV / Lil Soniq

Go To

YMMV tropes that apply to all of his works.

  • Angst? What Angst?: In Fairy of Darkness I, Sonic has a brief moment when Darkness attacks Fairy Tail. Because of this, he leaves the guild due to him not wanting them to get involved in it. After the rest of Fairy Tail try to comfort him, in the end, he gets back to his normal behaviour like nothing happened.
  • Anti-Climax Boss: Basically any battle that Sonic has may come off as this. It's come to the point when the enemies don't actually put up that much of a threat at all, and that he's just too powerful. Only Darkness averts this.
  • Ass Pull : Prevalent throughout most of his "serious works".
    • Fairy of Darkness
      • III features the debut of Harmony Sonic. While the entire plot has been about him obtaining the stones, the ass pull comes after. To wit: he later takes on Darkness the Hedgehog, but in order to finish him off, he'll use the blatant Spirit Bomb expy known as the ''Chaos Bomb'' to defeat him. Darkness slowly pushes it back, but then, Sonic pulls out the use of magic beans, to which he consumes, gains his power back, and ultimately defeats Darkness the Hedgehog. This plot point has not been referenced in any other scene prior to the story, and only exists to emulate DBZ as well as provide a Deus ex Machina.
      • Following that scene is the battle with Zack Hyperion. Towards the end of the fight, Sonic suddenly remembers how to use another 11th-Hour Superpower in the form of Hyper Sonic. Said form was not referenced in any other form whatsoever prior to the story, and just came up prior to the final battle. In fact, the entire stint with Harmony Sonic could have been removed if he just used said form to defeat him.
  • Cliché Storm : The Fairy Of Darkness series overuses common Shonen tropes, most notably that of Dragon Ball Z standards. Not only that, but it also overuses common Isekai tropes, such as the overpowered main protagonist who develops a harem throughout the course of the series.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: In Sonic's Ultimate Harem, Sonic is stated to play music during sex. A good chunk of songs that come up are taken from the library of none other than R. Kelly. It's really hard to note just how similar the character of both Sonic and the singer are, especially in light of his sex offenses.
  • Moral Event Horizon
    • Fairy of Darkness
      • III: Zack crosses this by plotting behind Sonic's back to take over the rest of Earthland, but it's when he kills Jim that makes him unforgiving to the rest of the guild.
  • Narm : There's quite a ton of these kinds of moments.
    • Fairy of Darkness I presents us with Sonic trying to leave Fairy Tail. After leaving he is convinced by the rest of the guild to return, but in response, he gives this line:
Sonic: I DON'T HAVE A HOME ANYMORE! I LOST MY FRIENDS, MY FAMILY MY BEST FRIEND AND MY BROTHER AND I LEFT THEM! I AM THE ONE TO BLAME AND IT'S MY FAULT THAT DARKNESS IS STILL ALIVE OUT THERE! DARKNESS IS RIGHT I BROUGHT THIS ON MYSELF AND I BELIEVE IT! I just...
  • Nightmare Retardant : Due to the "Tell Don't Show" method that he usually employs, many scenes within that would seem to be a bit frightening don't get the scare needed.
