• Harsher in Hindsight: Jake the Snake was one of the best talkers in the history of wrestling, but during a podcast with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin he was asked where his talent came from and he attributed it to his horribly abusive upbringing.
  Jake: An abused kid is the greatest actor on the planet. But with most of them you don't even know. 'cause they're ashamed, and they hide it from themselves, and from everybody else. So I think that all of that BS that I went through as a kid taught me... how to tell a lie.
• Moral Event Horizon: He once tied Randy Savage in the ring ropes and had a real (though devenomed) cobra bite Randy's arm.
  • Right around that same time he struck Elizabeth in the face. Even well known heel commentator Bobby Heenan was found speechless by that act.
• Narm: At the Heroes Of Wrestling event, Jake cut a drunken, nonsensical promo about gambling, which, in his alcohol induced state, probably seemed to make perfect sense.
  Jake: "You wanna play 21? I got 22. You wanna play Blackjack? I got 2 of those too. Aces and Eights? I got waaaay too many of those..."
  "DDT! DDT! DDT! DDT!... Think-about-it!"
  "Mr Cameraman, get your ass back up here!...Helloooo? I'm talkin' to you!"
• Never Live It Down: His appearance at the Heroes Of Wrestling event will never be forgotten by fans. No matter how much they'd like to. Aside from his drunken promo, he attempted to tongue kiss his snake mid match, before that putting it between his legs and stroking it back and forth in front of a female fan and tried to drop his tights after the match. Luckily, they cut the feed before it could be seen.
• So Bad, It's Good: The aforementioned promo. Seen here. Though, based on what happened the rest of the night, it's the highlight of the show.
• Stuck in Their Shadow: In a particularly satisfying case, Jake's popularity has completely eclipsed that of his abusive father, Grizzly Smith. In fact, Grizzly Smith is pretty much only known today as "Jake the Snake's asshole father" at best.
