  • Complete Monster: See here.
  • Magnificent Bastard:
    • Sundance Shot is a charismatic terrorist, leader of the FSO faction, and one of several clones of Sumio Mondo. Originally a product of the Eleven Children cloning operation, Sundance set out to find the original Mondo in order to make him carry on his and the clones' special genes and memories to a new generation. Constantly foiling Edo's plan to destroy Lospass Island by moving his bombs to traveling airplanes, Sundance continues to do so until he finds the original Mondo. Killing Mondo at one point and having him resurrected upon making a deal, Sundance continuously persuades him to uncover his true past by helping him get to the airport.
    • Stephan Charbonie is an engineer and soccer enthusiast who proves to be more sinister than he lets on. Upon Mondo finally exiting the hotel, Stephan informs the searcher that he poisoned Yayoi out of jealousy, and forces him to search his PDA in order to acquire the antidote to save her, only for it to be not be on there. In actuality, Stephan had given Yayoi a sleeping pill, and the whole thing was a test to see if Mondo will believe anything anybody tells him. Reuniting with Mondo at the airport, Stephan tells Mondo how to activate his Android Bombs to destroy the entire island, afterwards stealing his precious car Giggs.
  • Padding: Becomes noticeable the more of the island you explore, with long stretches of road that are traveled slowly by foot. Of course, this is discussed.
  • Sequel First: This game is a sequel to The Silver Case, which didn't receive an English language release until after FSR. Several plot twists assume you're familiar with the characters and events of the first game.
  • Trolling Creator: In true Suda51 fashion, this game is designed not so much to entertain you as it is to drive you up the wall.
  • Trapped by Mountain Lions: Reversed and played for laughs. Sumio can't quite get to the actual objective of defusing bombs before they blow up the planes, because he keeps having to fulfill the requests of various people he interacts with.
