YMMV / Brat

Go To

  • Actor Shipping: Exploited by Brat in Chicken Girls. Prior to the show's creation Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall both had large followings that shipped them together. Brat took advantage of this when casting them as love interests.
  • Abandon Shipping: Rhyme and Wes had a sizable following in Chicken Girls until T.K returned for season 6 and most shippers went back to shipping Rhyme and T.K
  • Broken Base: The Indulgent Fantasy Segue in Total Eclipse, are they an example of Narm or Narm Charm. The decision to remove them after season 4 also split the fandom, as those who found them cringe were happy to see them scraped while others saw it as Brat getting rid of the thing that made the show unique.
  • Die for Our Ship: Astrid got hit hard with this by Wes and Rhyme shippers during season 5 of Chicken Girls.
  • Growing the Beard: Chicken Girls Both the acting and writing improve by season 3.
  • Questionable Casting: Riley and Maddison Lewis (Quinn and Birdie) are real-life sisters with a striking resemblance but they play unrelated characters. Made worse as neither of them looks anything like their respective on-screen sibling.
  • Take That, Audience!: Brittany wrongfully attributing Harmony's Dorothy costume to Stranger Things is a subtle take that to fans that thought the episode title "We're Not in Attaway Anymore" was a Stranger Things reference.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: How many fans felt about the cast turnover in Chicken Girls season seven.
    • Same goes for Crown Lake, perhaps even more so since the audience was Left Hanging at the end of season 2.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Hamilton in season 3 of Chicken Girls. The audience is supposed to feel sorry for him because he is an Insecure Love Interest but it comes across more as a Crazy Jealous Guy. Not helped by him cheating on Rooney with her sister.
